Description

The Seasonal Coach fulfills the mission of the school by developing and administering a sports program that prepares student athletes for interscholastic competition.

This position is seasonal and requires a strong understanding of Catholic education and its values.

Responsibilities

• Supports and upholds the philosophy of Catholic education and the mission of the school.
• Acts as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Maintains confidentiality regarding school matters.

Instruction

• Uses a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs of student athletes.
• Manages and supervises athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions.

Program Management

• Establishes performance criteria for competition and evaluates students’ athletic abilities.
• Takes necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.

Student Management

• Accompanies and supervises student athletes during athletic competitions.
• Instructs and advises students on regulations related to academic requirements and recruiting practices.

Communication

• Establishes and maintains open communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in coaching and/or playing sports.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver license required.
• CPR certification and First Aid training are also required.
