San Antonio City Soccer Club (SA CITY) is a nationally recognized club that was founded in 2004 and is San Antonio’s model youth soccer club. SA City is laying the foundation for a bold and ambitious vision that will transform the community and the success of the club in the coming years.

Position Overview:
San Antonio City Soccer Club is seeking a part-time Boys High Performance Coach to join our National Platform team! The High Performance Coach will work across our National Platform initiatives to ensure full alignment of our championship culture and playing identity across the u13-u19 age groups. Programming will include 3 training sessions per week and games at the weekend. As this is the pinnacle of SA City’s player pathway, our High Performance Coach will need to be passionate, talented and enthusiastic about child and soccer development as well as preparing the club’s next generation of talent.

Key Responsibilities:

On Field

  • Connect and develop young players
  • Ensure SA City playing identity, coaching philosophy and methodology are incorporated into the delivery of the program.
  • Be able to comfortably deliver sessions to players ages 12 to 19.
  • Be able to comfortably deliver sessions to elite young players.
  • Educate both players and parents on development journey
  • Training sessions are currently scheduled on Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 8pm to 9:30pm.

Operations (Administration)

  • Work with the National Platforms Director and Assistant GM to ensure sessions are safe. Ensure facilities and equipment are at an acceptable level.
  • Solicit training attendance in advance of sessions.
  • Communication and strong relationships with key stakeholders (parents, club admin, leagues, other staff and directors)
  • Coordinate video equipment on game day and upload game footage to Hudl.

Parent Communication

  • Manage and communicate professionally with existing and prospective families.
  • Communicate and educate players, coaches, and parents in the understanding and delivery of the SA City Soccer program and playing identity.
  • Communicate in a variety of settings such as informal, formal, online, individual or groups.

Qualifications:

  • Soccer coaching license is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of coaching or playing experience required.
  • Deep and demonstrable understanding of the tactical, technical and fitness demands of elite youth soccer.
  • Candidate must have a strong work ethic and a desire to build a career in elite youth development
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft and Google software suites.
  • Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays.
