Description

This position reports to the Head Baseball Coach and is responsible for performing the duties and requirements of the assistant coach for the baseball program.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach and instruct the technical and motivational aspects of the sport of baseball (specifically pitching) to student-athletes.
• Develop training plans and game plans; Assist in developing, coordinating and supervising practice and training of student-athletes in baseball.
• Recruit student-athletes to play baseball who can be successful academically, athletically and socially at St. Mary’s University.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling matches, practices, and academic counseling of each student.
• Support the development of each student-athlete spiritually, academically, physically and socially.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution preferred.
• Experience coaching and/or playing baseball at the college level preferred.
• Excellent speaking, writing and basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
