Job Title: Head Coach – Spring 2025 Season

About YouthGold
YouthGold is a premier player development organization focused on helping youth athletes grow through high-quality coaching, competitive play, and year-round training. We are seeking a passionate, committed Head Coach for our Fall 2025 season to lead a youth baseball or softball team.
Season Details
- Fall Season Duration: February 16, 2026 – May 17, 2026
- Total Length: 13 weeks
- Tournaments/Games: Coach a team in a league and ability to take them to tournaments
- Practices: Weekday and Weekend team practices and weekend tournament play
Position Overview
As a Head Coach, you will be responsible for leading team practices, coaching all team tournaments, and assisting in organizational hitting practices. You’ll help shape the player development culture and provide consistent leadership throughout the season. This is a 1099 contract role that may be extended through the winter, spring, and potentially year-round based on performance and team needs. Candidates must live 15 minutes from San Francisco or within the city limits.
Responsibilities
- Lead all team practices (typically 1–2x/week)
- Attend and coach all weekend tournaments (minimum of 3)
- Assist with team hitting practice sessions throughout the week
- Run additional team practices on non-tournament weekends
- Communicate effectively with players, families, and YouthGold leadership
- Support individual player development through feedback and accountability
Qualifications
- Prior experience coaching youth baseball or softball (required)
- Strong understanding of player development, game strategy, and team management
- Understand the socio-emotional side of youth sports
- Energetic and positive leadership style
- Reliable transportation and weekend availability
- Background check and SafeSport certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must have a valid drivers licenses and an ability to commute
Compensation & Structure
- Pay: You will be paid via a fixed stipend based on your experience and total seasonal commitment (equivalent to $30–$40/hour).
- Missed Days: Missed practices or tournaments will result in deductions from your stipend.
- Assistant Support: You will work with volunteer parents as assistants, or you may choose to split your stipend with another coach (subject to YouthGold approval).
Schedule
- Weekday team practices (evenings)
- Weekend tournaments (minimum of 3)
- Additional hitting sessions and practices as needed
This contract has the ability to extend into the summer and beyond.
