Job Description
Position: JV Volleyball Assistant Coach
Location: Newton Country Day School/ Newton, MA
Season: Fall 2026 (mid-August to early November)
Stipend Range: $2,500-3,500
Position Summary
Newton Country Day School seeks a passionate and organized JV Volleyball Assistant Coach to work with the team during the fall 2026 season. The coach will be responsible for supporting practices, players, and a competitive, inclusive team culture that reflects the mission of Sacred Heart education and Falcon Athletics.
Position Requirements:
- Assist with all aspects of JV Volleyball practices and games with a focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship, in alignment with the program goals of the Head Coach. ● Mentor student-athletes of varying skill levels, encouraging courage and confidence, discipline, and growth.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the Athletics Department. ● Demonstrate willingness and ability to drive school vehicles for practices and competitions. ● Uphold and model the values of Sacred Heart education and the mission of Falcon Athletics, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes.
- Embody the Athletics Department core principles of fielding programs that are fierce, formative, and fun while developing women of courage and confidence.
- Complete other related duties as requested by the Director of Athletics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience playing or coaching volleyball (high school or collegiate level preferred). ● Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certifications (or willingness to complete prior to the season). ● CORI background check and fingerprinting required.
