The Position



As we expand throughout the USA and Canada, we want an energetic Community and Customer Success Manager to serve as the liaison between Cobu, our digital communities, and the property management teams we support. We are seeking someone who is able to be empathetic to the needs and desires of a residential community and their staff, and who can effectively distill and communicate the essentials of those needs to the product and engineering teams. This person should become a key member of their digital communities through enthusiastic and productive digital communication, as well as through seeding potential interest Groups and Cobu/resident-led conversations via the Cobu Chat.

Operating through our community science framework of Membership, Connection, Needs Fulfillment, and Mutual Influence being the four fundamentals of strong community, this Virtual Community Manager will do everything in their power to kick-start and advance user engagement while identifying key opportunities to enhance resident-to-resident communication. The position is largely a blank slate in terms of the methods used to foster and grow these communities, so a willingness to take risks and an ability to quickly adapt to setbacks are a big plus!

Responsibilities

Work with the Director of Community to build a scalable online moderation and activation strategy and playbook Play a direct role in helping Cobu achieve its business goals around user acquisition, activation, and retention Generate targeted content that drives in-app engagement across all owned buildings On occasion prompt & help property management teams add and edit in-person/digital gatherings and events via the Cobu app Promote in-person/digital events and gatherings via Cobu Chat and building-wide intercom messaging system Respond to user comments and questions via the Cobu app in a timely manner Monitor overall engagement strategy by overseeing in-app activity Gain familiarity with the building environments and build relationships with the property management teams Contribute to the product team's understanding of user needs, helping to write the playbook as we grow

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent 0-3 years' ideally some planning and leading community initiatives Enthusiasm for people and their experiences, combined with a strong desire to connect with and engage through digital mediums Previous experience creating and curating targeted content, coupled with an ability to think creatively to achieve success Flexibility in hours - our communities operate on their own schedules, with some moderation needed nights and weekends Ability to work within a team environment in a position that involves a lot of remote coordination Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to identify and track relevant community KPIs Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills Ability to interpret resident needs and answer questions as needed Attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills An entrepreneurial spirit, familiarity with constantly changing start-up environments are a plus!
