Overview
At Cohesive Robotics, we’re building smarter robots to modernize manufacturing’s most common fabrication processes. We combine proven, industry-standard robotic arms with our proprietary Argus OS software stack to make it easier-than-ever for smaller manufacturers to automate tedious and hazardous tasks such as sanding, welding and polishing.
We are seeking a highly-motivated production technician intern to work alongside our engineering team as we scale our game-changing AI-powered robotic solutions for manufacturers.
What You’ll Do
- Design and develop parts, fixturing, and subassemblies for our cutting-edge robotic workcell products
- Assemble and test mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, and pneumatic subsystems
- Operate our test lab robotic workcells to collect data and perform customer testing
- Work with engineers to improve and refine the product
- Other duties and responsibilities assigned as needed
Who You Are
- Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics or similar. Trade school or two-year degree programs in advanced manufacturing (or similar) may also be considered.
- Strong understanding of basic mechanical concepts, common machine assembly best practices
- Proficient with shop tools and basic material handling equipment
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and troubleshooting tools (e.g. multimeter usage)
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
- Able to work as a team player and as an individual contributor
- Highly motivated, organized, innovative, and enthusiastic
- Passionate about robotics and eager to work in a startup environment
Nice to Haves
- Experience as a line operator in assembly or packaging/shipping environment
- 2+ years metal fabrication and/or manufacturing factory floor experience (welding, grinding, finishing)
- Experience setting up and operating computer-controlled machinery such as CNC mills
- Experience with designing and/or programming PLCs, industrial robots, mobile robots, or other mechatronic systems
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Up to 50% time will be spent in a metal shop environment requiring basic PPE (safety glasses, hearing protection). Other time spent in an office environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to operate and use shop equipment
