What we mean by AI-native

AI-native here means you build with agents by default. We expect 100% of the code to be generated via agentic tools (Cursor, Claude Code, and similar), while you own everything that actually matters: problem framing, architecture, tradeoffs, review quality, tests, performance, and security. This is not “vibe coding.” The code is generated. The thinking is yours. You should be great at steering agents, validating output, catching subtle issues early, and debugging code you did not manually write.

Position Overview & Priorities

We are seeking a Solution Engineer to join our team and act as a technical bridge between our customers and CometChat’s engineering and product teams.

As a Solution Engineer at CometChat, you will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing scalable solutions using our platform, and ensuring successful integrations across web, mobile, and backend systems. This role requires strong technical depth, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to clearly communicate complex concepts to customers.

Primary responsibility would be:

  • Actively engage in a hands-on, customer-facing technical role supporting CometChat’s Chat, Voice, Video, and AI Agent platforms.
  • Work closely with Sales and Customer Success teams during pre-sales and post-sales phases to design and validate customer solutions.
  • Understand customer use cases, architecture, and constraints, and recommend best-practice integration approaches.
  • Design end-to-end solution architectures using CometChat SDKs, APIs, UI Kits, and AI Agent capabilities.
  • Support customers integrating CometChat across Web, Android, iOS, React Native, Flutter, and backend platforms.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues related to real-time messaging, WebSockets, push notifications, calling, and agent workflows.
  • Review customer implementations and suggest improvements around performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, sample applications, and reference architectures.
  • Act as a feedback channel from customers to Product and Engineering teams, helping influence roadmap decisions.
  • Support enterprise customers with advanced requirements such as on-prem deployments, compliance constraints, and high-concurrency environments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where required.

Prioritized Experiences and Capabilities

  • Proven experience working with APIs, SDKs, and distributed or real-time systems.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience integrating third-party SDKs into web or mobile applications.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and at least one backend language such as Node.js, Java, PHP.
  • Familiarity with web and mobile development concepts.
  • Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
  • Strong debugging skills across client-side, backend, and network layers.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to customers.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a high sense of ownership.

Good to have

  • Experience with real-time communication platforms (chat, voice, video).
  • Familiarity with WebRTC and push notification systems (FCM, APNS).
  • Exposure to AI agents, chatbots, or LLM-based systems.
  • Experience working with enterprise or B2B SaaS customers.
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Prior experience in a Solution Engineer, Sales Engineer, or Technical Consultant role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
