Job Responsibilities
- Lead development of simulation models (including pumps, compressors, control values, elevation, DRA, etc) for the transient simulation of existing pipeline systems that connect to our software
- Develop steady state and transient hydraulic model enhancements, and provide clear, concise inputs to the development team regarding hydraulic model extensions
- Perform steady-state and transient hydraulic analysis to ensure accurate digitization of a customer’s environment, and modeling of control components
- Conduct hydraulic analysis for the development, testing, and validation of automation technologies
- Collaborate with customers to accurately model fluid and mechanical properties through a range of pipeline operating scenarios
- Develop equipment controls for simulation models that mimic the field PLC behavior
- Use offline or online methods to tune transient hydraulic models for supporting control systems
- Troubleshoot operational anomalies by replicating field events in the simulation environment to identify gaps in our software and ensure robust use case coverage
- Collaborate with the customers to ensure the quality of the input data to the simulation models is accurate, complete, and robust
- Continually champion and drive the automation and optimization of the hydraulic simulation modelling process
- Establish best practices for simulation, optimization, and modeling
- Read scripts and configuration files to provide technical expertise and guidance, and help the team support and maintain the simulation models
- Define simulation model scope and estimate delivery timelines
- Produce comprehensive documentation throughout the simulation model lifecycle
