We’ve sold over 14 million policies, and supported over 1.5 million drivers and we’re just getting started. We’re a team of 100 people, passionate about solving our customers’ problems. Join us. 🚀
The opportunity
At Cuvva, we run lean, highly collaborative cross-functional product teams. Each team owns its area of the product end-to-end, with real autonomy and accountability.
We’re hiring a Principal Product Manager to join our Core product team, the team responsible for Cuvva’s flagship short-term car insurance product and one of the company’s most commercially important product areas.
Core sits at the centre of the customer experience and directly influences some of the business’s most important metrics, including conversion, retention, revenue performance and customer satisfaction.
We’re looking for a highly autonomous product operator and builder: someone who can independently identify opportunities, deeply understand customer problems, navigate technical and commercial constraints, and continuously evolve a live revenue-generating product.
You’ll operate within a highly embedded trio alongside Engineering and Product Design, owning problems from discovery through to delivery, measurement and iteration. You’ll work across everything from funnel optimisation and customer experience improvements through to feature expansion, experimentation and strategic product evolution.
This role requires strong product intuition, commercial judgement and comfort operating at pace within ambiguity. We’re looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with highly hands-on execution and who thrives inside modern, product-native environments.
You’ll report to the Head of Product and work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Pricing, Underwriting, Operations and Customer Support stakeholders.
This is a great time to join the team. Cuvva’s core product continues to scale rapidly, and incremental product improvements compound into meaningful commercial impact. You’ll be joining a highly collaborative environment where strong ideas can come from anywhere and thoughtful challenges are encouraged and nurtured.
On a day-to-day basis you’ll:
- Continuously identify and execute opportunities to improve conversion, retention and customer experience across the end-to-end insurance funnel
- Conduct deep customer, competitor and market analysis to proactively shape the product roadmap and opportunity pipeline
- Work closely with Engineering and Product Design within a highly collaborative trio model to deliver high-quality mobile-first product experiences
- Use behavioural analytics, operational signals and customer insight to drive prioritisation and product decisions
- Leverage tools such as Looker, Mixpanel, Datadog and customer support insight to identify trends, friction points and product opportunities
- Navigate technical constraints, platform considerations and engineering trade-offs when shaping product direction
- Balance experimentation and innovation with operational stability and commercial viability
- Collaborate closely with Pricing and Underwriting to understand how risk, pricing and portfolio performance influence product decisions
- Operate comfortably across both strategic product thinking and highly hands-on execution
- Translate ambiguity into structured decision-making and clear product direction
- Communicate trade-offs and recommendations clearly across both leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
- Maintain high-quality product documentation and visibility across priorities, decisions and progress
You’ll do well here if you have:
- Significant experience owning mobile-first commercial product experiences end-to-end
- Strong product discovery capability, including customer research, competitor analysis and opportunity validation
- Experience operating within highly collaborative cross-functional product squads or trio models
- A strong commercial mindset and comfort balancing growth, customer experience, operational constraints and business outcomes
- High fluency using analytics, behavioural insight and modern AI tooling to accelerate discovery, synthesis, experimentation and decision-making
- Strong understanding of technical constraints, engineering trade-offs and modern product development environments
- Experience proactively shaping product direction rather than simply managing delivery
- Comfort operating within ambiguity and rapidly changing priorities
- A highly proactive, builder-oriented mindset with strong ownership instincts
- Experience operating at Senior, Lead or Principal level within a product-led scale-up or technology company
It’s a bonus if you:
- Have worked closely with actuarial, pricing or underwriting teams and understand how risk appetite shapes product decisions
- Have experience scaling a core or flagship product line with measurable commercial impact
- Have experience balancing experimentation velocity with operational stability in live production environments
- Have contributed to product operations or portfolio-level strategy
- Have experience working within highly empowered product organisations where PMs own outcomes rather than delivery coordination
Experience within insurance, InsurTech, FinTech, lending, healthtech or other regulated digital environments is strongly preferred, but deep product capability within modern product-led organisations is considered more important than direct insurance domain experience alone.
Candidates who understand insurance operations but lack strong experience building and evolving mobile-first consumer products are unlikely to be a good fit for this role.
