Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Associate Cloud Security Automation Engineer with expertise in AWS and a strong focus on Infrastructure as Code (IaC). In this role, you will be responsible for safeguarding our cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of security, compliance, and resilience while leveraging the principles of IaC to automate and streamline security processes.

What you'll do..

  • Partner with the team to help develop, implement, maintain, and advance the security measures and posture of the organization in multi-cloud environments to protect the company's infrastructure, including cloud networks, systems, and data.

  • Deploy and manage infrastructure within cloud service platforms (CSPs) including AWS, GCP, and Azure.

  • Develop and deploy infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and Python, aligning with DevOps best practices working in GitHub.

  • Conduct proactive research to analyze security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies.

  • Implement automation scripts for health checks, alerts, and log reviews.

  • Assist in the incident management process during cloud infrastructure security incidents as a SME.

  • Implement cloud security solutions that enhance protection and minimize vulnerabilities.

  • Manage the daily operation and implementation of security strategy.

  • Collaborate with different departments to ensure the health and security posture of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation related to security policies, procedures, and configurations.

What you'll need..

  • Working knowledge of cloud service platforms. The preferred platform is AWS; Azure and/or GCP experience is also a plus.

  • Knowledge of cloud-native technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, and serverless architecture

  • Experience with Python and Terraform; Infrastructure as Code (IaC); GitHub, DevOps, and CI/CD practices

  • Ability to assess cloud infrastructure security issues and educate on security best practices

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Stay up-to-date on the latest threat intelligence, including adversarial tradecraft, in order to anticipate security breaches.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in cloud infrastructure security, specifically in at least AWS, but preferably in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP).

  • An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cyber Security, or a related field is required. Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).

  • Experience with security automation and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).

  • Understanding of networking concepts, cloud architecture, and identity and access management (IAM) in AWS.

  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or equivalent are a plus.
