Head of Delivery
Derq
Atlanta, GA, USA
Role Overview
This is an executive-level role with end-to-end accountability: from the moment Sales closes a contract to the point a client is live, successful, and renewing. You'll manage a portfolio of complex, multi-project programmes, hardware plus SaaS, public sector clients, accounts ranging from $500K to $5M, and you'll be the face of Derq's delivery to those clients throughout.
You'll work in close partnership with Sales, who own revenue, your role is to protect it. That means aligning on what's been committed, holding the line on realistic timelines, and making sure what gets sold can actually be delivered. When there's gap between a sales commitment and operational reality, you're the one who navigates it directly.
But delivery is only half the job. You'll also design and build Derq's customer success practice from the ground up, defining the post-deployment lifecycle, establishing health indicators, and creating the structured path from go-live through adoption, renewal, and expansion. You'll bring a genuine customer success philosophy to this role, not just project management discipline.
Internally, you'll build the governance frameworks, stage gates, and cross-functional rhythms that don't yet exist. You'll work closely with Finance on revenue forecasting, margin tracking, and delivery-linked financial planning. You'll lead a team of project managers, field application engineers, and fulfillment team, and as the function scales, so does your remit.
Key Responsibilities
You've run complex, revenue-linked delivery programmes before — multi-project, multi-stakeholder, real dollar value on the line. You've worked directly with external clients at a senior level and understand what it means to be accountable to them, not just to internal teams. You've built or shaped customer success practices and know the difference between a client who's live and a client who's truly successful.
You bring:
- A background in intelligent transportation systems — tolling, transit, ATMS, traffic engineering, or adjacent ITS sectors
- Comfort with hardware plus SaaS hybrid delivery models
- Strong financial literacy and hands-on collaboration with Finance on forecasting and margin modeling
- Demonstrated ability to align cross-functional teams, balancing Sales commitments with product delivery and implementation capacity to ensure predictable outcomes
- Experience designing or scaling customer success frameworks, not just inheriting them
- Willingness to travel across regions as needed
