The purpose of this role is to investigate, analyze, and validate Freight charges for CTC Business units.The Freight Audit Representative will be involved in creating efficiencies, documenting new processes, and ensuring knowledge is transferred. This role will work directly with carriers and internal departments to gather data and knowledge of Freight Audit and CTC P2P processes with an aim to improve the carriers experience and ensure controls are being followed.
What you will do
  • Complete Freight audit on various areas against approved Freight contracts. Issue claims for deficiencies and provide reporting for future prevention of errors.
  • Ensure carrier is setup correctly to ensure accurate and timely payments are executed.
  • Integrate analysis with carrier reconciliations with the goal of clearing all eligible unmatched charges as per SOP. Complete month end analysis, accruals and commentaries for FP&A and senior management review.
  • Review duplicate reports, monitor Freight audit source system interface to Peoplesoft; identify true duplicates, causes; advise reasonable solution to resolve and prevent errors.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives stemming from internal or external sources where Freight Audit is a stakeholder.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all financial controls related to Accounts Payable functions, ensure controls are executed with supporting evidence.

  • Able to work with minimal supervision and work well under pressure with tight time constraints in a dynamic and everchanging work environment.
  • Strong financial acumen in order to quickly learn and understand the logic behind AP and Audit
What you bring
  • University degree in Finance/Accounting or business-related discipline
  • 2 years experience with working within accounts payable or related function within PeopleSoft or an equivalent large-scale Financial System (SAP, JDE, JDA, Manhattan, Oracle etc.)
  • Previous experience working in a Freight Audit role.
  • Strong knowledge of Transportation and systems (SAP, JDA, Oracle, etc.)
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel. VBA programming and SQL would be an asset.
  • Experience in Corporate Retail, Supply Chain or Transportation would be an asset.
