Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Design and drive the overall strategy for marketplace seller acquisition, onboarding, and incubation.
- Lead and mentor a team of BD specialists--manage the day-to-day activities of the team, ensuring clear objectives, performance targets, and timely execution.
- Oversee seller lead generation and outreach, including cold calling, site visits, and merchant negotiations. This includes managing third-party or extended acquisition teams to support lead generation and outreach activities.
- Ensure sellers are onboarded efficiently and meet all platform requirements.
- Lead the incubation journey of new sellers—train them on tools, processes, and success levers. This includes encouraging the adoption of high impact seller programs, such as Free Shipping, Campaign Participation, and Sponsored Solutions.
- Track key metrics such as seller sign-ups, activation rates, and time to first sale.
- Monitor and report on team performance and seller pipeline to senior management.
- Identify gaps, trends, and growth opportunities across seller onboarding and incubation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, logistics, customer care) to ensure a seamless seller experience.
- Continuously optimize strategies based on seller behavior and platform performance data.
- Proven experience in leading business development, sales, or vendor acquisition teams—preferably in e-commerce or digital marketplaces.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills; able to work with performance metrics and large acquisition pipelines.
- Demonstrated experience in seller acquisition, lead generation, or onboarding processes.
- Project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deliverables.
- Experience using CRM systems and mass communication tools (e.g., email platforms, Viber, SMS tools) is a plus.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving business growth.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
