Job Description
Team Introduction
The Assortment Operations function is part of the broader General Operations organization, and plays a key role in ensuring that the Lazada platform delivers the best products at the best prices to our consumers. As part of our long-term strategic focus on strengthening assortment, the team is tasked with driving initiatives that enhance product availability, relevance, and competitiveness. This is achieved through an iterative, data-driven approach that continuously tests and refines how we scale the right assortment across the right categories. Working hand-in-hand with Commercial teams, regional partners, and cross-functional stakeholders, the team supports both foundational operations and strategic experimentation to shape the future of assortment on our platform.

Role Introduction
As the Assortment & Search Operations Specialist, you will serve as a critical functional bridge between our platform’s technical capabilities and its commercial ambitions. This is a high-impact role designed to empower category and platform strategies by ensuring our most competitive products are discoverable, prioritized, and high-performing.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end operationalization of product lifecycles and search merchandising, transforming data-driven insights into visible platform results.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities
Assortment Operations: Ensure high-performing products with strong demand potential are consistently surfaced and supported across the platform. Responsibilities include:
- Lifecycle Management: Support the identification and efficiency of the product lifecycle by aligning performance data with overarching category strategies.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Partner with Commercial and Campaign teams to secure prime visibility for key assortment during key platform events
- Performance Iteration: Monitor performance metrics to continuously refine and iterate on product selection criteria for various platform initiatives.
- Operational Excellence: Manage complex operational trackers and utilize internal tools to streamline assortment tagging, tracking, and prioritization.

Search Operations: Oversee the platform's Search tool, utilizing it as a strategic merchandising lever to empower commercial priorities.
- Tool Optimization: Operate and master internal Search tools, iterating on execution strategies to achieve ideal search results based on commercial insights
- BPO Management: Lead and manage a team of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners to ensure the high-quality execution of manual operational tasks.
- Regional & Local Alignment: Act as the primary point of contact for Regional stakeholders and local Commercial teams to execute key merchandising projects and search enhancements.
Job Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- At least 2–3 years of experience in eCommerce, category management, pricing, operations, or a related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data to make decisions
- Operational mindset with great attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving parts
- Excellent communication and coordination skills; able to work cross-functionally with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to adapt to evolving business requirements and priorities
- Proactive, accountable, and results-oriented
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and basic data dashboards or tools

Nice to Have:
- Experience with assortment management or pricing programs
- Familiarity with campaign operations or category performance strategies
- Experience working with regional teams or in a multi-country setup
