The Microbiologist will be responsible for being the subject matter expert in compost testing, compost culture cultivation, food waste analysis, and soil health quality testing. The Microbiologist will run the Microbiology Department by overseeing all things science about the composting process performed by Dyrt. The Microbiologist will support all General Managers from the corporate office, including compost quality testing and custom culture development.

Essential Functions:
Subject matter expert in bacterial development and cultivation
Perform Technical Writing (Including but not limited to SOPs, best use guidelines)
Maintain Laboratory Inventory
Maintain Laboratory Equipment
Perform other additional job-related duties as required

Qualifications:
Masters (PhD preferred) in Environmental Microbiology, Microbiology, Synthetic Biology, Geobiology, or a relevant field
Experience with culturing various bacteria, actimynocetes, and fungi
Experience and knowledge in bacterial physiology and metabolism
Ability to develop independent research projects as demonstrated through publication of peer-reviewed literature.
Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and present and explain technical information.
