Role Overview

Join our innovative team at Esper Satellite Imagery, a hyperspectral payload manufacturer dedicated to developing cutting-edge satellite imaging technologies. Our mission is to design and deliver world-class solutions for exploratory mineral mapping, agricultural stress analysis, and beyond. We are seeking a talented Systems Engineer to help integrate hardware and software subsystems, manage requirements, and lead a multidisciplinary team toward project success.

Key Responsibilities

● Requirements Management: Define, document, and manage engineering requirements for hyperspectral payload systems across their lifecycle.

● Subsystem Integration: Oversee the seamless integration of hardware and software components to ensure optimal system functionality and performance.

● Team Leadership: Lead small, multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration between optical, mechanical, electrical, and software engineering domains.

● Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact with external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies, to align expectations and ensure successful project delivery.

● Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate technical, schedule, and resource risks throughout the project lifecycle to ensure smooth execution and delivery.

● Documentation: Maintain meticulous documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and project reports, to ensure traceability, compliance, and knowledge transfer.

● Engineering Qualification: Conduct system-level qualifications, including design reviews, testing, and validation, to meet customer and mission requirements.

● Project Management: Plan, track, and execute projects on time and within budget, ensuring alignment with overall organisational goals.

● Test Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for system-level verification and validation, including environmental and performance testing.

Required Qualifications

● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

● 2+ years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in satellite, space, or defense industries.

● Proficiency in requirements management tools and systems modelling languages.

● Strong understanding of hardware-software interfaces and integration processes.

● Experience in project management methodologies and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).

● Familiarity with environmental testing and qualification standards.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior experience in satellite payload development or space systems engineering.
  • Understanding of hyperspectral imaging technologies and their applications.
  • Knowledge of defense or aerospace industry standards and compliance requirements.
