Salary Band | NGN 150,000 gross monthly |
Location | Lagos, Nigeria |
Work type and duration | Hybrid, Full-Time |
We are looking for a sharp, organized, and fact-focused Operations Analyst to join our team. The Operations Team is the engine of our agricultural supply chain, and your job is to make sure that engine runs without failure.
This role is for someone who loves numbers, structure, and solving problems. You will not just follow instructions; you will look at how we work and find ways to make it better. You will combine careful execution with a desire to use technology and data to help us grow.
Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will work with field teams and engineers to build a supply chain that delivers real value to Nigerian farmers and buyers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Your core duties revolve around driving maximum sales velocity and generating new revenue streams:
Vendor Management & Logistics Coordination
Primary Point of Contact: Serve as the main daily contact for our external partners, including logistics providers, input suppliers, and warehouse operators. You must communicate clearly and professionally to ensure everyone knows what they need to do.
Issue Resolution: When a truck breaks down or a delivery is late, you are the first line of defense. You must quickly find out what went wrong, communicate the delay to the internal team, and push the vendor to fix the issue immediately.
Vendor Onboarding: Manage the administrative side of bringing new vendors on board. This includes collecting necessary documents, verifying their details, and adding them to our database.
Performance Monitoring: Keep a strict record of how well our vendors perform. If a logistics partner is consistently late, you will have the data to back up that claim so we can find a replacement.
Project Management Support
Track Timelines: Assist the leadership team in tracking the progress of key operational projects. You will ensure that tasks are completed on time and that no steps are skipped.
Meeting Coordination: Organize weekly project update meetings. You will set the agenda, take clear notes on action items, and follow up with team members to ensure they do their part.
Resource Management: Help manage the resources needed for projects, whether that is assigning field agents to a location or ensuring budget requests are processed on time.
Tool Management: Maintain our project management tools (like Trello, ClickUp, or Asana) to ensure the status of every task is accurate and up to date.
Operational Analysis and Process Improvement
Identify Bottlenecks: Actively look for manual tasks, repeated errors, or slow points in our daily work (such as data entry, reporting, or supplier follow-ups). You must spot these issues before they become big problems.
Digitize Workflows: Take the lead in removing manual steps. You will design and build digital workflows using low-code tools (like Zapier or Make.com) to speed up our work and stop human mistakes.
-
System Documentation: Create clear, written guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for every new process you build. You must ensure that our systems are ready for growth and can be understood by any new team member.
Data Collection and Reporting
Track Performance: Manage the daily and weekly tracking of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will be responsible for knowing exactly how the operations team is performing against its targets.
Dashboard Management: Use Excel to build and maintain dashboards that show sales volume, logistics costs, and supplier performance. You will turn raw numbers into clear charts that the leadership team can understand quickly.
-
Feedback Loops: Collect feedback from our field agents and customers. Organize this information to find patterns, then present these facts to the Product and Engineering teams so they can build better tools for us.
Market Intelligence and Research
Detailed Research: Conduct deep research on market prices, competitor activities, and new agricultural regulations. You will provide the facts we need to make good decisions.
Cost Analysis: Regularly review our operational costs (transport, storage, procurement) and suggest specific ways to reduce spending without losing quality.
Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications Required
Educational Background
A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field that requires strong analytical thinking.
Experience
1–3 years of professional experience in a role that required analysis, project support, or operations management.
Experience working in a fast-moving environment (such as logistics, agriculture, or a startup) is preferred.
Experience working with organizations where social or economic impact was a primary goal is a plus.
Competencies
Excel Proficiency: You must be very comfortable with Microsoft Excel. You should know how to use Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and logical formulas to organize large amounts of data.
Technical Curiosity: You should have a genuine interest in using technology to solve problems. If you have used tools like Zapier, Make.com, or have basic coding knowledge, that is a major advantage.
Clear Communication: You must be able to explain complex data in simple terms. Your written reports should be free of errors and easy to read.
Self-Direction: You must be able to work without constant monitoring. We need someone who defines their own daily goals to meet the company’s weekly targets.
Attention to Detail: Your work must be precise. Whether you are entering data or researching a competitor, you check your work to ensure it is correct.
