- Stage 4: Founder Interview - This is the final stage where you would have a meeting with the founder to assess top performers against the company's vision and what contributions you can make to Farmz2U's mission. Note that elements from both interviews will drive the final stage.

Job Description

Role Purpose.

The Senior Field Officer is a mid-level field leadership role responsible for overseeing field operations within assigned territories, ensuring seamless execution of procurement, farmer engagement, order fulfilment, and project activities. The role serves as the operational bridge between field teams and central operations, driving performance, accountability, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. The Senior Field Officer supervises Field Operations Associates and leads the execution of strategic field initiatives that contribute to Farmz2u’s growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities.

• Lead and coordinate field operations across assigned territories.

• Supervise, coach, and support Field Operations Associates to achieve operational targets.

• Manage farmer onboarding, engagement, retention, and relationship management activities.

• Coordinate procurement, aggregation, and order fulfilment activities from sourcing to delivery.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, aggregators, suppliers, transporters, and other ecosystem partners.

Monitor field performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions.

• Ensure compliance with operational processes, quality standards, and reporting requirements.

• Support implementation of special projects, pilot programs, and strategic initiatives.

• Conduct field audits and verification exercises to ensure data accuracy and operational integrity.

• Provide regular performance reports and insights to management.

• Resolve escalated field challenges relating to logistics, supplier performance, farmer engagement, and product quality.

• Support demand planning by providing market intelligence and field insights.

• Drive achievement of regional operational KPIs and business targets.

People Leadership Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of Field Operations Associates.

• Conduct coaching, mentoring, and performance review sessions.

• Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of field personnel.

• Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in agriculture, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 3-4+ years of relevant experience in field operations, agricultural value chains, procurement, logistics, or rural development.

• At least 1–2 years of experience supervising teams or coordinating field personnel.

• Strong understanding of farmer engagement and agricultural supply chains.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously.
