Why Frame?
Frame is a compliance infrastructure company powering seamless payments for complex and highly regulated industries. We enable businesses to move money with confidence by embedding compliance and payments into a single, intelligent platform. Our ambition is to become the infrastructure layer that regulated businesses rely on to operate, scale, and access services globally.
At Frame, how we build matters as much as what we build. Our values shape how we work, make decisions, and support our merchants. We are headquartered in Los Angeles with a globally distributed team. We’re committed to running an inclusive and accessible hiring process, if you need any adjustments or support along the way, let us know and we’ll ensure you’re set up to succeed.
The Role
We are hiring a Senior Risk Strategy Analyst to join the Risk team at Frame.
This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising fraud and AML risk strategies across the merchant lifecycle, from onboarding through to in-life transaction monitoring. You will play a key role in building scalable, automated decisioning systems that enable Frame to safely support complex and high-compliance use cases.
You will work closely with Product, Engineering, GTM and Risk to ensure risk is embedded into how we build and operate.
What will you do?
- Design and own fraud & AML risk strategies. Build rules, signals, and decisioning frameworks across onboarding (KYC/KYB), transaction monitoring, and in-life merchant risk.
- Translate risk into systems and automation. Work with Product and Engineering to embed risk logic into workflows, tooling, and frameOS capabilities (rules engines, alerts, case management).
- Develop rules and optimise performance. Continuously test, iterate, and improve rules using data to balance approval rates, fraud loss, and operational efficiency.
- Support complex verticals with first-principles thinking. Design tailored risk strategies for nuanced use cases such as gaming, gambling, and financial services where standard approaches fall short.
- Own monitoring and alerting frameworks. Work with risk to define triggers, thresholds, and escalation paths across fraud, AML, and credit signals.
- Drive data-led decisioning. Analyse transaction data, behavioral signals, and external data sources to identify trends, risks, and optimisation opportunities.
- Improve underwriting and pre-vetting frameworks. Partner with GTM and Compliance to refine merchant onboarding and risk appetite alignment.
- Increase automation and reduce manual ops. Identify opportunities to shift from manual review to rule-based or model-driven decisions.
What we require
- 4-8+ years experience in risk strategy, fraud, or AML within payments, fintech, or financial services
- Proven experience building and managing fraud and/or AML rules (onboarding and/or transaction monitoring)
- A good understanding of:
- Fraud typologies (ATO, synthetic identity, merchant fraud, Bust-Out, abuse)
- AML monitoring and suspicious activity patterns
- KYC/KYB and onboarding risk signals
- Experience working with risk tools/data providers (e.g. Alloy, Sift, Persona, device intelligence, transaction monitoring systems)
- A strong technical and analytical capabilities, including SQL, data analysis, and an experimentation-driven mindset
- Experience leveraging AI/ML capabilities to enhance and automate risk decisioning (e.g. rule augmentation, anomaly detection, prioritisation), with a strong focus on explainability, governance, and measurable impact on fraud/AML outcomes
- An exceptional communicator who conveys ideas with clarity and precision, both verbally and in writing, with a highly structured and detail-oriented approach
- Ability to operate in ambiguity and design solutions from first principles
- Experience supporting complex or regulated verticals (e.g. gaming, gambling, financial services) is highly preferred but not required
- Strong collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Risk teams
You are someone who:
- Thinks in systems and capabilities, not just rules
- Enjoys breaking down complex risk problems into simple, scalable solutions
- Thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Is comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch
- Takes ownership and moves quickly with sound judgment
- Balances risk, customer experience, and commercial impact
- Cares deeply about quality, precision, and continuous improvement
