VP, Finance
Accounting & Finance
United States
Frame is a compliance infrastructure company powering seamless payments for complex and highly regulated industries. We enable businesses to move money with confidence by embedding compliance and payments into a single, intelligent platform. Our ambition is to become the infrastructure layer that regulated and non-regulated businesses rely on to operate, scale, and access services globally.
At Frame, how we build matters as much as what we build. Our values shape how we work, make decisions, and support our merchants. We are headquartered in Los Angeles with a globally distributed team. We’re committed to running an inclusive and accessible hiring process, if you need any adjustments or support along the way, let us know and we’ll ensure you’re set up to succeed.
The Role
We are hiring for our VP, Finance to join the Operations function at Frame. The role is suited for a finance leader with deep payments experience and a strong understanding of the financial complexity of merchant acquiring. The successful candidate will initially take direct ownership of core accounting operations, drive the global financial close, and prepare to absorb broader corporate reporting functions.
What will you do?
- Partner with the CEO, PE sponsor, and executive team to shape financial strategy, business planning, and overall company performance.
- Modernize and strengthen financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and board reporting processes.
- Deliver clear visibility into processing volume, merchant performance, revenue streams, residuals, costs, margins, and portfolio trends.
- Drive greater financial discipline across merchant acquiring, ISV partnerships, sponsor bank relationships, and ancillary payment solutions.
- Build out finance systems, controls, and processes that scale with the business.
- Own investor reporting, board communication, lender relationships, and PE ownership requirements.
- Collaborate across sales, product, risk, underwriting, operations, and technology to sharpen visibility into business performance.
- Evaluate growth opportunities, including new products, partnerships, geographic expansion, and potential acquisitions.
- Oversee cash management, capital planning, compliance-related financial oversight, and risk-informed decision-making.
- Recruit, lead, and develop the finance team.
- Senior finance leadership experience in payments, merchant acquiring, payment processing, gateways, ISOs, sponsor bank models, embedded payments, or related fintech environments.
- Strong understanding of payments revenue complexity, merchant acquiring economics, residual reporting, portfolio performance, processing costs, payouts, and interchange economics.
- Experience working in a private equity-backed company or directly with private equity sponsors, boards, and investors.
- Ability to connect financial reporting to business performance, operating metrics, and growth decisions.
- Experience building reporting, forecasting, budgeting, controls, and scalable finance processes.
- Comfort operating in a growing middle-market company where the CFO needs to be strategic, hands-on, and close to the details.
- Experience with board reporting, investor communication, capital planning, and business performance reviews.
- Ability to partner with sales, product, risk, underwriting, operations, technology, and executive leadership.
- Experience with merchant portfolios, sponsor bank oversight, residuals, ISO or agent models, ISV partnerships, or complex merchant verticals.
- CPA preferred, but not required.
You've spent your career in payments and you know merchant acquiring, interchange, residuals, portfolio economics, and settlement and reconciliation of card brand activity. Hand you a merchant portfolio P&L and you see the business behind the numbers, not just the numbers.
You've sat across from a PE board and know what that conversation demands: real answers, backed up, delivered with confidence. You can build the model and then defend it in the room.
This isn't a seat where finance is handed to you fully built. You'll build the reporting, the controls, the team. You like being close to the details, not just the board deck.
You lead people and want to build a team, not inherit one. And you move easily across sales, product, risk, underwriting, ops, and engineering, because people trust you as a partner, not a gatekeeper. If you want finance to actually shape where a payments business goes, with a direct line to the CEO.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
