Gamesight empowers the industry’s top game makers through data, technology, and experiences.

Gamesight builds technology to help kickass games find commercial success. We do this by empowering game publishers with data so they can better understand their community, players, and game performance. We specialize in Measurement & Attribution, Influencer Activations, Creator Programs, and Creator-Led Playtests, all tailored to meet the unique needs of each game at every stage of its lifecycle.

About this Role

Gamesight is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with a record of managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and month-end close. You will manage the day-to-day operations of our AP/AR function, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. You will collaborate with all teams across the business, developing processes and controls for efficiency, accuracy, and completeness of financial information reported to management and external parties. Our ideal candidate will see the opportunity to help the broader organization adopt a set of standard financial processes and goals as a tremendous contribution to Gamesight’s success. Using The Office’s accounting department as a reference point, we’re looking for someone with Angela’s attention to detail, Oscar’s problem-solving skills, and Kevin’s enthusiasm. You don’t have to love cats or chili, but you’re a great fit if you love video games!

What you'll do:

  • Accounts Payable Management: Process vendor invoices, prepare payment batches, and maintain vendor relationships.
  • Accounts Receivable Operations: Process customer invoices, monitor collections, and maintain customer accounts.
  • Month-End Close Support: Assist with journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of all bank accounts and credit cards.
  • Expense Management: Review and process employee expense reports using our expense management platform (Brex).
  • Financial Records Maintenance: Maintain organized digital and physical financial records in compliance with retention policies.
  • Support QuickBooks Operations: Help maintain the integrity of our QuickBooks Online system and chart of accounts.
  • Software Integration Maintenance: Maintain various software integrations with QuickBooks Online, including Brex, Rippling, and other third-party software.
  • Creator Payment Processing: Process payments to creators/influencers in our network according to established schedules.
  • HRIS Platform Administration: Develop familiarity with and work within Rippling (our HRIS for all things payroll, people, taxes, and compliance).

Who you'll work with:

  • You’ll support the Controller on financial activities and projects.
  • Expect to sit with the CFO and Controller to understand our organization, business model, and some of our quirks (that need to be un-quirked).
  • Work with the Controller to resolve customer inquiries related to billing and invoicing and help build accurate sales forecasts based on accounting data.
  • Partner with the Ops team to maintain our HRIS, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, and administer benefits and payroll.
  • Collaborate with other team members on the sales, campaigns, and creator program teams to process customer, creator, and partner contracts, invoices, etc.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Accounting experience required. ➗
  • Previous start-up experience (fast-paced, shifting priorities, scaling). 🆙
  • History of scaling and process improvement for AP/AR operations. 📈
  • Strong proficiency with any ERP, Excel/Google Sheets, and HRIS platforms. 📊
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 🕵🏽‍♀️
  • Fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal. 💬
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment while meeting deadlines. 🚤
  • Willingness and flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and deadlines. 💪
  • Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information. 🔐
  • Love of video games, tabletop games, the gaming industry, and/or content creation! 🎮
  • Eager to learn. As a pioneer in a new space, there are still uncharted territories to be explored. You have a hunger for learning and an interest in being the best at what you do. 📚

Nice to haves:

  • Strong proficiency with QuickBooks Online. 📐
  • Software implementation and/or integration experience. 🤖
  • Familiarity with using data and technology to create innovative brand experiences. 📽️
  • Fluent in more than one language. 🗣️

Success in 30 days:

  • You are aware of Gamesight policies, guidelines, teams, and roles.
  • You’ve met with key stakeholders (internal and external) to understand how your role fits within the company’s ecosystem.
  • You’ve done a deep dive into Gamesight’s approach to influencer marketing.
  • You can access all tools and resources required for you to be effective – you also understand how to use these tools within Gamesight’s processes.
  • You know Gamesight’s leadership team and are comfortable routing basic questions to the right people.
  • You independently manage the AP/AR workflow.
  • You have built relationships with key team members across departments.
  • You have improved and documented at least one accounting process.
  • You understand Gamesight’s current accounting set-up and our financial position, and have familiarized yourself with recent financial reporting.
  • You help complete the month-end close and produce month-end reporting.

Why Gamesight?

  • Gamesight is an award-winning workplace that prioritizes its culture, team, and collective growth. As a technology company, Gamesight is helping hundreds of games build strong communities, engage the right influencers, and effectively measure marketing performance against actual sales and installs. 📈
  • Work with a team that gets shit 💩 done in a flexible and independent environment.
  • Work closely with major game developers and publishers and assist them in launching some of the world's most successful and loved games. 😎
  • Enjoy perks like medical, dental & vision coverage, flexible vacation and sick leave, access to free mental healthcare, 401k with 3% matching, and annual budgets for learning, gaming, and working from home. ✨
  • We have a casual, offbeat (we ARE a bunch of nerds, after all), and remote-by-design work environment. We co-work in Discord, play games together online, host weird & themed company meetings, and more! 🎮💥

  • Submit your application & answer a few questions.
  • Initial Interview: 30 minutes (chat with our People Operations Manager and Director of Operations)
  • Practical Interview: 60 minutes (chat with the Chief Financial Officer and our Head of Influencers, and complete a small practical task to demonstrate your proficiency in the type of work this role entails)
