Contracts & Legal Administrator
Gamesight
Gamesight empowers the industry’s top game makers through data, technology, and experiences.
Location: Remote
Salary range: $65,000-$80,000
The Legal Operations team at Gamesight is basically the Hermione Granger fan club - we've read every contract clause, we know every legal spell, and yes, we actually enjoyed our Business Law textbooks. We're the ones who get genuinely excited about redlines, who organize our Google Drive folders with the dedication of a Dark Souls wiki maintainer, and who consider a perfectly executed DocuSign workflow to be a thing of beauty. We're looking for a Contracts & Legal Administrator who finds joy in turning legal chaos into operational excellence.
This position is ideal for someone who plays Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney unironically, who organizes their Steam library by EULA type, and who has strong opinions about Oxford commas (the correct opinion, obviously). You might be the person who actually reads Terms of Service agreements, who gets satisfaction from a perfectly formatted contract amendment, or who considers "whereas" and "heretofore" to be power words. Whether you're coming from a law firm, a tech company, or you're that friend everyone asks to review their apartment lease, this is your chance to build a legal operations function from the ground up at a company where "force majeure" might actually mean a server outage during a Destiny 2 raid. 🎮
What you'll do:
- Manage Gamesight's entire contract lifecycle from initial drafts through execution and filing. Take ownership of these processes and build new solutions that solve contracting roadblocks.
- Draft, review, and negotiate redlines and counter-redlines communications for sales agreements, creator contracts, vendor agreements, creator NDAs, etc. Automate these processes and continuously improve them.
- Own the Deal Desk function, ensuring contract accuracy, GRN creation, proper approvals, and timely execution. Audit customer NDAs and edit business terms.
- Maintain contracts and template database, and ensure all agreements are properly stored and accessible.
- Track contract renewal dates and work with Sales to proactively manage renewals and amendments.
- Coordinate with sales, creator programs, and campaign teams to ensure contracts align with deal terms. Join kickoff calls to gather required information for contract drafting.
- Process and distribute fully executed contracts to all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Support legal operations, including entity formation, trademark filings, and corporate governance.
- Create and maintain contract templates and legal playbooks for common scenarios.
- Identify legal risks and escalate appropriately to leadership.
- Support HR with employment agreements, contractor documentation, and equity management.
Who you'll work with:
- CFO and Controller on financial terms and risk assessment.
- Sales team to ensure deal terms are accurately reflected in contracts.
- Creator Program and Campaign teams on talent agreements.
- Head of Strategic Partnerships on complex partnership agreements.
- Operations team on vendor contracts and procurement.
- Outside counsel on specialized legal matters.
- Engineering on console/vendor integrations and workflow automation.
Requirements:
- 4+ years of contract administration, legal, and/or business operations experience. 📋
- The ability to learn through doing, retain that information, and apply what was learned to new situations. 📑
- Excellent written communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal language for business teams. 💬
- Experience with redlining and/or contract negotiation. ✏️
- Ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously under tight deadlines. ⚡
- A keen - and I mean keen - attention to detail. The service we provide to our customers and creators is high-touch and white-glove, which means there are many opportunities for mistakes. And while mistakes do happen, we need someone who checks, double-checks, and then has someone else triple-check that everything looks correct before moving forward. 🔍
- Able to correctly set boundaries & realistic expectations with our customers. ⛔
- Enthusiasm for project management and cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to adjust to various communication styles and build relationships across teams. 🤝
- Ability to deal with highly sensitive and confidential information and respect the privacy and non-disclosure terms for our customers, creators, and employees. 🔐
Nice to Haves:
- Advanced abilities within Google Sheets and/or knowledge of SQL.
- Experience with no-code or low-code tools and process automation.
- Fluent in more than one language.
- A love of video, tabletop, and/or trading card games and a high level of excitement around working with the devs and publishers who make the titles you love come to life. 🎮
Success in 90 Days:
- You are aware of Gamesight policies, guidelines, teams, and roles.
- You can access all tools and resources required for you to be effective – you also understand how to use these tools within Gamesight’s processes.
- You understand Gamesight’s methodology and approach to influencer campaigns, creator programs, and community-building.
- All existing contracts are catalogued and organized in a central repository.
- The Deal Desk process has been documented and communicated to all teams.
- Contract templates updated and approved by leadership.
- Successful execution of different types of contracts across multiple departments.
- Relationships established with all key internal stakeholders.
- PandaDoc is clean. 🧽
