About Your Role
As a Propulsion Development Working Student at GATE Space, you will be supporting propulsion system and ground support equipment design as well as manufacturing preparation, focusing on both 3D CAD design and technical drawings. You’ll contribute to fluid system, mechatronic and structural engineering, including breadboarding and analysis. This hands-on role requires relevant skills and offers the opportunity to gain experience and contribute to cutting-edge propulsion development in a fast-paced environment.
Your Primary Tasks
- Establish 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings.
- Support prototyping of hardware for propulsion systems and ground support equipment.
- Hands on work during breadboarding and test campaigns.
- Support trade-offs and selection of hardware components.
- Take ownership of work packages in the field of fluid system, mechatronic and structural design.
- Experience in 3D CAD design and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience in fluid systems, mechatronics and or structural design.
- Experience with design for manufacture.
- Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping processes (additive manufacturing, metalworking, hardware assembly, etc.).
- [Optional but desired] Work experience in the aerospace industry.
- [Optional but desired] Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving priorities.
We are looking for an intern (15 - 20h per week), starting as soon as possible. This role is in-person in Vienna, Austria with occasional travel to Lower Austria.
