About the Opportunity
This is a team-of-one role. You'll own design, working closely with the development team to rebuild our core application. You’ll need to inherit what works, shed what doesn't, and introduce entirely new capabilities as we grow. You’ll have outsized influence over what using Giftbit feels like.
About the Role
As Giftbit’s Product Designer, you will have a leading, pivotal role in shaping the user experiences to drive customer conversion, retention, and growth. Working closely with product leadership, developers, and business team members, you'll deliver elegant solutions that balance user needs with business goals. This role reports to the Chief Product Officer.
What You’ll Do
- Lead v2 Design: Own the end-to-end design of Giftbit's v2 product, a deliberate rebuild of a platform customers already love, now with multi-account, multi-user workflows at its core.
- Design for Complexity: Translate genuinely complex B2B requirements such as multi-user permissions, account hierarchies, and API first interactions into interfaces that feel clear and obvious to the people using them.
- Shape the Recipient Experience: Design the reward recipient journey across an expanding catalog of brands, regions, and configurations, where delight and simplicity have to coexist.
- Work Closely with Developers: Collaborate daily with a small, tight-knit engineering team, iterating as constraints and learnings emerge throughout the build.
- Research and Test: Talk to users and internal stakeholders, build prototypes, run usability tests, and bring what you learn back into the work.
- Contribute Broadly: Bring your design perspective to cross-functional work with marketing, sales, and support. The customer experience extends beyond the product and so does your role.
What You Should Have
- Experience: 3-5 years combined education and experience in product design, ideally with a portfolio showcasing your design process and problem-solving skills. Experience designing B2B software interfaces with an API first approach is highly valued.
- Design Skills: Strong understanding of UX principles, interaction design, and visual design.
- Curiosity and Growth: A desire to continuously learn, grow, and adapt in an evolving environment.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- API Knowledge: Experience designing user interfaces and interactions for B2B APIs, with an understanding of how APIs are used in business contexts and how to make their integration seamless for users.
- Design Sense: An aptitude and interest for great brand and graphic design, as well as the ability to communicate what is not working and why.
- AI Execution: AI tools as a part of how you work. You are excited about designing for humans using their own AI tools as well as their agents. You’ve used AI to leverage your skill and judgment with greater scale, speed and impact.
