About The Team
The team’s mission is to make fast and legal-proof decisions by building trusted relationship with our customers and our teams internally.
As a Product and Privacy Counsel at Gorgias, you will play a key role in shaping our privacy and product compliance strategy. You will provide strategic legal advice to our Product and Engineering teams, ensuring that privacy and data protection considerations are seamlessly integrated into our business operations and growth initiatives.
We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Legal Counsel to join our expanding legal team as the third member. This is a unique opportunity to become Gorgias' dedicated privacy expert and contribute to building a robust compliance framework.
What You'll Do
Proactively identify, analyze, and mitigate legal and regulatory risks at every stage of the product life cycle
Develop a deep understanding of Gorgias’s product and data flows; conduct new product/ feature reviews.
Maintain partnerships with internal stakeholders to educate and identify potential privacy or other regulatory concerns
Support and maintain a privacy compliance program that scales to meet changing and new regulations.
Develop deep expertise on AI regulations, privacy (GDPR and CCPA) and product regulations that enable you to effectively counsel our product teams
Who You Are
3+ years of experience in a law firm or in-house, with a particular focus on privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, CAN-SPAM) and global data protection laws.
High ethical standards, excellent judgment, and a high degree of emotional intelligence to build strong collaboration with stakeholders across the team and the business
Experience counselling on global privacy compliance and emerging regulations and best practices in artificial intelligence.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadline pressure
CIPP/US, CIPP/E or CIPM privacy certifications are a significant plus
