About the Team

At Gorgias, the Streaming Team powers our platform, supporting 100+ engineers with messaging and streaming systems that drive our products forward. Our goal? Build self-service tools that remove infrastructure headaches, so engineers can focus on innovation.

With a small, tight-knit team of four, you’ll have the freedom to shape your roadmap, collaborate directly with engineers, and deliver impactful projects—without product managers in the mix.

As Gorgias scales, we’re tackling big challenges, from improving Kafka and Flink reliability to migrating away from RabbitMQ to boost performance. If you love solving complex engineering problems and making a real impact, this is the team for you.

What you’ll do

  • Own and improve the reliability and scalability of streaming and messaging systems, such as Kafka, Flink, and RabbitMQ (with plans to adopt PubSub).

  • Lead projects like migrating away from RabbitMQ, ensuring seamless transitions for engineering teams.

  • Build tools and features that simplify infrastructure for engineers, enabling self-service and reducing the learning curve.

  • Drive live migrations, upgrades, and enhancements to production systems with minimal downtime.

  • Contribute to major initiatives, including the transition from monolith to microservices and on-premise to cloud infrastructure.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify needs and deliver tailored solutions that boost productivity and reliability.

  • Provide infrastructure support and maintenance, ensuring high-quality services and minimal incidents.

Who you are

  • 6 years of strong experience in Python, with familiarity in tools like Redis and Celery

  • Expertise in messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Kafka, etc.) and a passion for infrastructure engineering.

  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and database management.

  • Proven ability to manage migrations and upgrades in live, production environments.

  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including on-premise-to-cloud or cloud-to-cloud transitions.

  • A track record of engineering solutions for other engineers, with a focus on simplicity and usability.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to self-manage roadmaps and priorities.
