Why this role matters
We’re looking for an Accounting Manager who combines operational excellence—shaped by a Big 4 foundation—with the agility and innovation of a startup mindset. You’ll lead our global month-end close with precision while driving automation initiatives that turn fragmented workflows into actionable insights. As the right hand to the VP of Accounting, you’ll help position the Accounting team as a strategic partner to the business—delivering clarity, speed, and impact far beyond compliance.
What you’ll own & drive
Finance transformation 🧠
Automation: Lead journal entry and reconciliation automations; evaluate and implement tools that streamline workflows.
Ad-hoc special ops: Run high-impact initiatives like procure-to-pay improvements and cross-functional efficiency sprints.
Operations 👀
Month-end close: Own a tech-enabled close process—assign tasks, track progress, remove blockers. Handle cash reconciliations, payroll, AP, accruals, equity/lease entries, and P&L analysis. Eliminate manual steps via NetSuite workflows and integrations.
Cash & Treasury: Oversee weekly funding, FX, and Tipalti disbursements across multiple currencies/entities (USD, CAD, AUD, EUR).
Accounts Payable: Support the AP team in vendor onboarding, categorization, payments, and working capital improvements.
Corporate card program: Manage Brex with FP&A and champion virtual card adoption.
-
Statutory Compliance:
U.S.: Lead the annual US GAAP audit—own PBCs, handle auditor requests, write technical memos, and ensure timely completion.
International: Coordinate filings, taxes, and audits in Canada, Australia, France, and the Netherlands with local consultants.
Analytical & Partnership
Insightful reporting: Turn close data into dashboards and commentaries that drive business decisions.
Close-cycle KPIs: Monitor and improve key metrics like speed, accuracy, and automation coverage.
Leadership: Mentor an onshore accountant and offshore team (Invensis); collaborate regularly with FP&A, People Ops, and cross-functional partners.
What we are looking for
6–8 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ in SaaS or venture-backed tech; Big 4 + startup mix preferred
Strong communicator who can explain accounting concepts in plain English and influence cross-functional teams
Proven track record of shortening close timelines, automating workflows, and delivering actionable insights
Relentless ownership mindset.
Fluent in NetSuite (saved searches, CSV imports).
Hands-on experience with Tipalti, Brex, Carta, Chargebee, and advanced Excel/Sheets; SQL or Python is a plus
-
Solid grasp of US GAAP and the business context behind the numbers
What success looks like after 12 months
Month-end close consistently finishes before Business Day 3 with no material adjustments
80%+ of recurring entries and reconciliations are automated
Your dashboards are the trusted source for finance and business leaders
Global audits and renewals are completed on time with minimal effort
-
You’ve fully taken ownership of Accounting Ops, enabling the VP to focus on strategy
