About Grips Intelligence

Grips Intelligence is an A-round, data startup providing multiple data products for clients across different sectors, from financial clients, brands, retailers, and tech companies. Our strategic focus is on daily SKU-level sales intelligence across leading retailers and brands, covering both in-store and online sales.

Our data includes units sold, revenue, pricing, and detailed product attributes. Customers use Grips to measure market share, identify key-selling categories and products, track emerging brands, discover trending products, and benchmark performance across retailers, geographies, and channels.

The Role

We are looking for an ambitious and highly driven Sales Development Representative to join our commercial team in New York. You will play a key role in building Grips' pipeline by identifying and engaging prospective customers across some of the world's leading brands and retailers.

This is a hands-on outbound role. Strong cold-calling experience and comfort picking up the phone are essential. You should enjoy prospecting, opening doors, and creating conversations with senior decision-makers. As Grips’ first SDR, you will have significant ownership in helping build and shape our outbound sales motion from the ground up. As part of a small and eager startup, you will work closely with senior leadership and have meaningful ownership over how we build our outbound sales motion.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage a pipeline of qualified prospective customers
  • Drive high-volume outbound prospecting, primarily through cold calling, complemented by email, LinkedIn, and other channels. Outbound prospecting is the core focus of this role.
  • Research target companies and identify the right decision-makers
  • Engage senior executives and communicate Grips' value proposition clearly
  • Qualify opportunities and schedule meetings for the sales team
  • Develop creative outbound campaigns across priority industries and accounts
  • Follow up consistently with prospects and manage opportunities through the early stages of the sales funnel
  • Attend relevant industry conferences and events, meet prospective customers in person, and help generate new opportunities
  • Work closely with the commercial team on messaging, targeting, and sales strategy
  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline information in the CRM

What We're Looking For

  • 2–4 years of SDR, BDR, or similar outbound sales experience
  • Significant cold-calling experience is required
  • Demonstrated success generating qualified meetings and pipeline through outbound prospecting
  • Confident communicating with senior decision-makers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commercially minded, persistent, and comfortable with rejection
  • Highly proactive and able to operate independently
  • Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving startup environment where priorities can evolve quickly
  • Strong desire to learn, improve, and ultimately grow into a closing sales role
  • Based in or around New York and comfortable working in a hybrid environment

Why Grips

You will join Grips at an exciting stage of growth, with the opportunity to have a meaningful impact on how we build our commercial organization. You will work directly with senior leadership, gain exposure to sophisticated enterprise customers, attend industry conferences, and have a clear path toward becoming an Account Executive as the company grows.
