🚀 What You’ll Do

You’ll join Guama in a key leadership role where you will own the full risk analysis function from day one. Unlike traditional setups, you won’t inherit a team at first. Instead, you’ll personally lead the analysis, build frameworks, and turn insights directly into business decisions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Build and maintain robust SQL-based dashboards and queries to analyze credit performance and unit economics across the business.
• Partner with our data science team to design, implement, and monitor predictive models (underwriting, line increase, fraud detection, etc.).
• Work hand-in-hand with the finance team to deliver airtight unit economics, ensuring every decision is grounded in sound financial impact.
• Lead cohort monitoring to understand customer behavior and portfolio dynamics, including default risk, spend, usage, churn, and profitability trends.
• Provide deep-dive analysis on any business-critical topic — from marketing funnel efficiency to card approval rates, logistics costs, or customer service metrics.
• Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to make decisions based on your analysis, ensuring risk discipline while enabling growth.

🧠 What We’re Looking For

We need someone who can crunch the numbers and call the shots. You’re a good fit if you:

• Have at least 3 years of exclusive experience in Credit Risk — this is non-negotiable.
• Are exceptional with SQL — you can dive deep into raw datasets and emerge with insights sharp enough to guide decisions at the executive level.
• Are comfortable being a solo operator at first, building the foundation of Guama’s credit risk strategy without layers of support.
• Have the ability to partner with different teams (including finance, product, operations, and data science) to drive outcomes.
• Are fluent in Spanish and have high proficiency in English to collaborate with global investors, partners, and colleagues.
• Thrive in a startup environment — fast-paced, execution-driven, and full of learning opportunities.
