About the Role
The Senior Regulatory Solutions Architect is a domain expert who designs, implements, and scales regulatory workflows and analytical solutions across the customer base. Working alongside Enterprise Customer Success Managers and Account Executives, you will deliver tailored training, apply regulatory subject matter expertise, and set customers up for rapid adoption and long-term success on the HData platform.
Role Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise & Customer Partnership
- Serve as an embedded regulatory intelligence expert for power users and teams across the customer base, providing specialized knowledge in areas such as FERC proceedings, state regulatory affairs, rate cases, IRP analysis, or interconnection processes, with the goal of expert product-to-use case knowledge transfer
- Work collaboratively alongside customer teams as a "research fellow," providing hands-on guidance, analysis, and expertise that positions HData as an indispensable analytical partner to increase adoption and customer product expertise
- Develop and maintain deep expertise in 2-3 specialized regulatory domains that represent high-value use cases for HData's platform
- Stay current on regulatory developments, policy trends, and industry best practices to provide proactive insights and strategic guidance
Scalable Solution Development
- Design and document repeatable "blue path" workflows and "easy button" solutions for common regulatory use cases that can be deployed across multiple customers
- Create analytical frameworks, templates, and guided processes that combine HData's technology with regulatory expertise
- Build and maintain a library of use case playbooks, research methodologies, and analytical approaches that scale expertise across the customer base
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to translate customer needs and regulatory requirements into platform enhancements
Tech-Enabled Services & Enablement
- Deliver specialized training, workshops, and enablement sessions focused on advanced regulatory analysis techniques and platform capabilities
- Develop educational content, case studies, and thought leadership materials that demonstrate HData's unique policy intelligence capabilities
- Support marketing initiatives by articulating the value proposition of combining AI technology with regulatory subject matter expertise
- Create customer-facing materials and documentation that showcase regulatory insights and analytical capabilities
Expansion Through Expertise
- Identify opportunities to expand platform usage by introducing new teams and use cases that benefit from specialized regulatory expertise
- Demonstrate value that drives seat expansion and deeper platform adoption through expertise-as-a-partner model
- Support sales and customer success teams in articulating the unique value of HData's policy expertise in enterprise expansion conversations
- Serve as a technical and domain expert in customer trials, proof-of-concept projects, and expansion initiatives
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Customer Success Managers to support their strategic accounts with specialized regulatory expertise
- Collaborate with Sales on enterprise opportunities where deep policy knowledge differentiates HData from competitors
- Work with Product team to ensure platform development aligns with regulatory user needs and industry requirements
- Contribute to Marketing efforts by developing thought leadership content and participating in industry events
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Public Policy, Engineering, Economics, or related field; advanced degree (MS, JD, MBA) strongly preferred
- 5+ years of direct experience in energy regulatory affairs, utility operations, regulatory consulting, or related policy-focused roles
- Deep subject matter expertise in specific regulatory domains (e.g., FERC proceedings, state utility regulation, rate cases, integrated resource planning, interconnection, or compliance)
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable insights and scalable processes
- Strong technical aptitude with experience using AI tools and SaaS platforms
- Excellent communication skills with ability to educate and enable both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to create documentation, frameworks, and repeatable processes
- Comfortable working in a startup environment with evolving priorities and responsibilities
Preferred Experience
- Background with utilities, grid operators, regulatory commissions, or energy consulting firms
- Experience creating customer-facing training materials or educational content
- Track record of thought leadership through publications, speaking engagements, or industry contributions

The compensation for this role is $110,000 to $140,000 base salary annually, plus performance-based bonus tied to customer expansion metrics and solution development milestones.
This role is remote and open to candidates located in the United States. Travel is required 15-25% of the time for customer meetings, industry conferences, and team gatherings.
