The DevOps Engineer (Experienced) sits within the Technology business unit. In this role, you will support the development, security and operations teams to release and secure application code using the modern best practices of DevOps.
This is a remote role; however, we currently operate in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, MA, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, TX, VA, and WI.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Specific responsibilities under the direction and supervision of the DevOps Engineering Manager include:
- Implement and refine CI/CD pipelines using Github Actions, Terraform, ArgoCD, Helm, and Kustomize.
- Provide engineering expertise to plan, analyze, design, test, and deploy secure, scalable, and highly available cloud infrastructure expressed as code.
- Strive for continuous improvement and build continuous integration, continuous development, and constant deployment pipeline (CI/CD Pipeline)
- Work collaboratively with Software Engineering, QA, Data, and Security Teams to support the full software development lifecycle of applications hosted in a hybrid environment.
- Design, manage and maintain tools to automate operational processes.
- Perform infrastructure cost analysis and optimization.
- Ensure site reliability and respond to irregularities.
- Optimize existing development and release processes through automation.
- Define and evolve DevOps best practices within the Team.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience including scripting, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), AWS, Linux. CI/CD, and Git.
- At least 2 years of experience managing production Kubernetes infrastructure with exposure to the use of cloud vendor Kubernetes solutions such as EKS, AKS, and GKE.
- Extensive experience automating system tasks and infrastructure using a scripting language (Python and Bash preferred), with configuration management tools (Salt, Ansible, Chef), service registry and discovery tools (Consul and Vault, etcd), and infrastructure orchestration tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle including Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CICD) pipeline architecture (Github Actions, GitLab, Drone) including deployments into Kubernetes environments using tools such as Helm, Kustomize, and ArgoCD.
- Experience automating public cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with AWS services including ECS/Fargate, RDS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, CodeBuild, S3, Route 53, API Gateway, etc.
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker, Buildah, podman etc.
- Experience with Continuous Integration tools. Github Actions experience is preferred, but experience with GitLabCI or CircleCI is also acceptable.
- Experience with open-source monitoring e.g. kube-prometheus-stack – Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger, Alertmanager, etc.
- In-depth understanding of cloud-based networking, VPCs, gateways, etc.

Reflected below is the base salary range offered for this position. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors including but not limited to academic achievements, skills and experience. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
- $115,700 to $164,500 annually
