We are seeking a skilled and experienced QA Automation Manager with expertise in "Shift Left" Quality approach and SDET practices. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of software testing, automation tools, and the ability to architect and implement robust automation solutions at all testing pyramid levels. You will be responsible for driving the automation strategy and ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products through early involvement in the software development process.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive automation strategy that aligns with the organization's quality objectives and business goals.
- Integrate quality assurance activities early in the software development lifecycle, collaborating closely with developers to prevent defects and enhance software quality.
- Manage and lead a team of QA automation engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and coaching to ensure the team's success.
- Design and implement a scalable and maintainable automation framework that covers various technologies, platforms, and applications.
- Define test plans, test cases, and automation scripts, ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
- Evaluate and select the appropriate automation tools and technologies based on the project requirements.
- Oversee the execution of automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects, ensuring timely resolution.
- Implement and maintain automated testing within CI/CD pipelines, promoting continuous testing and rapid feedback.
- Create and maintain documentation for test plans, test cases, and automation processes.
- Ensure that testing practices align with industry best practices and compliance standards.
- Identify and communicate potential risks in the project and work proactively to mitigate them.
- Provide training and guidance to team members and stay updated on industry trends and emerging automation technologies.
- Work with the PO team to define the test approach and strategy for automation.
- Review software bug reports and highlight problem areas.
- Cooperate and collaborate with the PO/SRE/Developer team to ensure that testing activities match the requirements.
- Proven experience in a QA automation leadership role, with at least 8 years of experience in test automation.
- Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, etc.) and programming languages (Any OOPs language, TypeScript, Go, Java, etc.).
- Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Python, C#, or other relevant languages.
- Experience in SDET, automation “shift left” approach
- Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Experience in integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab
- Deep knowledge of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Ability to design and implement a scalable automation framework.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and debug automation scripts, identify and mitigate test automation risks, and optimize test automation performance
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences, delegate tasks and manage a team of QA automation engineers.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban
- Experience with performance and load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling) is a plus.
- A strong commitment to quality and a passion for staying current with industry trends.
- Strong hands-on experience in coding for automation (Web/Mobile app and API automation)
- Ability to identify, communicate, and escalate issues when necessary.
- Strong skills in requirement analysis.
- Strong skills in defining and executing test cases, test plans, and test activities.
- Strong time-management skills.
- Solid skills in Database and SQL, with the ability to effectively understand and navigate databases.
