About the RoleWe're hiring a Strategic Finance Associate to join Intelligems' finance function — and help build it. This is the second finance hire at the company, sitting directly alongside the Head of Strategic Finance and touching everything from monthly close to board prep to the data infrastructure that powers how we understand and operate the business. This is not a typical finance role. You won't be handed a pre-built set of spreadsheets to maintain quarter over quarter. Intelligems treats data as a competitive advantage — financial and operational metrics flow from Snowflake through into Tableau, HubSpot and other tools — and the analysis that comes out of this team lands directly with the founders and shapes real decisions. There are no layers between the work you do and the people acting on it.You'll start by owning the recurring finance operations. Over time, the expectation is that you grow into deeper work: understanding how data is modeled and structured, serving as the central source of truth for metrics across the business, and producing the proactive analysis that drives company strategy. The ceiling here is high, and deliberately so.We're looking for someone who wants to understand how the numbers are built, not just what they say. What You'll DoOwn Recurring Finance OperationsExecute monthly close in coordination with our bookkeeping partner — categorizing transactions, reviewing financials, and ensuring everything ties and makes sensePrepare and distribute monthly financial packages to founders, function leaders, and banking partnersRun monthly commissions — pulling deal data, reviewing for accuracy, coordinating payoutOwn quarterly board deck financials and support fundraising preparation as neededReporting & TableauMaintain and evolve existing dashboards as the business changes and new questions surfaceBuild new views when leadership needs to see something we haven't measured beforeBe the person who can take a business question and turn it into a clear, reliable, well-structured answerServe as the Company's Data BackboneAct as the central resource for data across Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and more — fielding requests, maintaining consistency, and making sure the right people have the right numbersWhen a team is building something new — a health score, a dashboard, a new performance metric — you're in the room helping define what it should measure, where the data comes from, and whether it's being used correctlyDevelop fluency in how our financial and operational data is structured in Snowflake and dbt, and grow into having real input on how new metrics get defined and modeled as the company scalesNo prior experience with Snowflake, dbt or Tableau required — but you need to want to learn it, and to think carefully about how data should be built, not just consumedBuild Leverage Through AIHelp evaluate, implement, and maintain AI tools and agents that amplify what our team can doEnsure the data that flows into AI systems is accurate, well-structured, and consistently defined — because the quality of the output depends entirely on the quality of the inputIdentify workflows across finance and GTM operations where automation can improve speed, accuracy, or insightStay current with the tools that are changing how finance and ops teams work — and bring that knowledge back to the teamWho You AreMust-HavesStrong Excel skills — comfortable building financial models from scratch, not just editing themGenuinely analytical — you think carefully about what data means and where it might be wrong before putting it in front of othersCurious about how data systems work — you want to understand where numbers come from, not just what they areDetail-oriented and reliable — the recurring work here requires consistency and accuracy, and you take pride in bothLow ego, high ownership — equally comfortable cleaning up a messy reconciliation as presenting analysis to the foundersBackgrounds We're Excited About1–4 years in finance — investment banking, PE, FP&A, corporate finance, Big 4, consulting, or startup financeFamiliarity with SaaS metrics (MRR, retention, churn, NDR) is a strong plusPrior exposure to SQL, Tableau, or modern data tools — or a demonstrated ability to pick up technical skills quicklyComfortable in ambiguity and figuring things out without a lot of hand-holdingWhy This Role MattersThe finance function here doesn't just report on what happened; it maintains the data layer the whole company relies on and helps every team make better decisions. The data infrastructure here is still being shaped. The reporting is still being designed. The analysis you produce will reach the founders and influence real decisions on pricing, customers, company strategy, and more. If you want to own something meaningful, learn a full data stack end-to-end, and grow alongside a company at an inflection point, this is the right seat.
