What you'll do
- Design and build core product features end-to-end, with emphasis on backend systems
- Architect and implement event-driven workflows, queues, and async pipelines
- Collaborate directly with founders on product strategy and technical direction
- Establish engineering best practices and shape our technical culture
- Own and maintain significant portions of the codebase
- Make key architectural decisions that will scale with the company
What we're looking for
- Self-starter who thrives with complete autonomy and minimal direction
- Expert user of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or similar)
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript
- Deep experience with Node.js and backend development
- Familiarity with queueing systems, event-driven architecture, and async workflows
- Comfortable building UIs with React
Bonus points
- Experience building AI agents or working in data science / ML
- Active contributor to open source projects
- Former founder or early employee at a startup
- Background in developer tools, documentation, or DevEx
