Job Overview and Main Goals
Be part of the transportation team that is responsible for managing kencko's daily outbound and inbound transportation flows across the supply chain for both our D2C and retail channels. This requires ensuring the transportation of ingredients and finished goods through road, air and sea freight, and complying with all rules and regulations regarding documentation and customs requirements. In this role you’ll get a chance to not only run day to day transportation activities but also develop new procedures and identify efficiencies in order to reduce costs and delivery times.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure inbound and outbound transportation on a daily basis in a timely manner;
- Ensure all the necessary documentation and information needed for inbound and outbound transportation is issued correctly and in a timely manner;
- Monitor and resolve outbound and inbound shipping related issues;
- Ensure invoice approval and reconciliation of the routes allocated to you;
- Cost control of the routes allocated to you;
- Be an expert in rules and regulations relating to customs and ensure the team and the business are aware of and comply with them;
- Identify efficiency gains and cost reduction opportunities and contribute to drive them;
- Manage continuous improvement projects in order to contribute to a leaner transportation management across kencko;
- Create and maintain business relationships with service providers;
- Embody and promote a healthy working culture that is true to kencko’s values, fostering a sense of teamwork and collaboration;
- Provide all necessary information and requirements to procurement team negotiate the best conditions possible for transportation; and
- Ensure all processes are properly documented at our collaborative workspace (Notion).
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Preferable minimum 3 years of experience in logistics and international transportation;
- Experience with USA inbound transportation in retail is preferred;
- Experience working with customs and knowledge of their rules, regulations and procedures, particularly in the USA and in the food sector;
- Experience in establishing and managing relationships with carriers and service providers;
- Process oriented and interest in continuous improvement;
- Very strong analytical skills and structured thinking;
- Excellent organization and communication skills;
- Keen eye and interest in data analysis;
- Comfortable working in an evolving and dynamic environment;
- Ability to laugh at yourself and at the small day to day things;
- Excellent level of spoken and written English;
- Good level of spoken and written Portuguese; and
- Good knowledge Excel/Google sheets and preferable in Netsuite.
