With an expanding base of early customers and our first 21 satellites in orbit, Kepler is continuing to grow and expand its most important asset – the Team!
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Lab Manager to join our mission to build the Internet for space. As the Lab Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient operation, organization, and safety of our lab facilities. You will play a vital role in managing lab operations, equipment, inventory, and personnel to support the development and testing of our satellite subsystems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lab management, exceptional organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day lab operations, ensuring smooth functioning and efficient utilization of resources.
  • Oversee equipment management, including maintenance, calibration, and repair.
  • Maintain an inventory of supplies and materials, coordinating procurement and tracking usage.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Conduct safety training sessions and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and record-keeping of experiments, test results, and equipment maintenance.
  • Optimize lab efficiency by developing and implementing streamlined processes and workflows.
  • Organize the lab layout to ensure proper storage of equipment and materials for easy access.
  • Serve as a liaison between the lab team and other departments or project stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineers, and project managers to coordinate lab activities and support project objectives.
  • Provide training and supervision to lab personnel, including onboarding and ongoing skill development.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and propose process enhancements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in lab management and satellite manufacturing.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in lab management
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to details.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a lab environment.
  • Familiarity with lab equipment and calibration processes.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Leadership abilities.
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
