About Kinetic

Kinetic is on a mission to create a safer workplace and better life for the frontline workforce. Backed by Nationwide, we’re transforming workers’ comp with technology-driven solutions for injury prediction, prevention, and management—helping employers create safer, healthier workplaces. We also work directly with enterprise clients.

Our platform is built for industries like parcel delivery, manufacturing, and transportation. From wearable tech that reduces strain and sprain injuries by over 60% to a tech-driven program that speeds up return-to-work and generative AI for claims management, we're redefining what workers' comp can do.

We’re a remote-first team headquartered in New York City, growing fast—10x in the past two years—and driven by accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. If you're excited to build a career with impact, we’d love to meet you.

The Role

Your primary focus will be to design, build, and maintain our automated testing infrastructure, ensuring our systems are robust and reliable. You will be the champion for automation, working with cross-functional teams to integrate testing into every stage of the development lifecycle. While you will perform manual testing for new features and exploratory checks, your overarching goal is to create comprehensive automated test suites that cover our entire suite of products. • Integrate automated testing into the CI/CD pipeline to enable continuous delivery.
  • Perform manual testing of new features to provide rapid feedback and inform the development of comprehensive automated regression suites.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution, emphasizing root cause analysis.
  • Advocate for and implement best practices in testing and quality across the engineering team.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in product quality and testing processes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in a quality assurance or software development role with a strong focus on test automation.
  • Deep experience with test automation in a modern tech stack, including proficiency in Python or TypeScript in a cloud environment.
  • Proven experience delivering software from concept through production, including contributing to CI/CD, monitoring, and operational support.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills.
  • The working language at Kinetic is English.

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
  • Experience testing solutions built on AWS, serverless architectures, and various database technologies (SQL and no-SQL).
  • Strong testing and documentation practices with examples of how you have solved testing challenges in the past.
  • Experience using Generative AI to enhance test cases and procedures.
  • Experience with performance, load, and security testing.

What we offer:

  • This is a remote position (candidate must be currently based in the U.S.)
