Job Description:
Kitchenery is revolutionizing the future of kitchen appliances with Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) technology. We are seeking a Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to drive firmware development for our WPT Rx and Tx modules. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and optimizing embedded firmware for our smart appliances like kettles, blenders, toasters, and more.
This role requires strong expertise in embedded systems, low-level programming, power electronics, and BLE-based communication. The ideal candidate should have experience developing scalable, modular, and power-efficient firmware for microcontrollers in wireless power, smart appliances, or industrial IoT applications.
Responsibilities:
- Hands-on firmware development for Kitchenery’s WPT Tx and Rx systems, ensuring seamless power transfer and communication.
- Develop and optimize real-time firmware in C/C++ for MCUs handling WPT, BLE communication, power negotiation, and system safety.
- Design and implement low-level drivers for I2C, SPI, UART, ADCs, GPIO, and PWM-based power control.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to validate system performance, debug PCB-level issues, and optimize firmware for custom PCBs and sensors.
- Implement BLE-based handshake protocols between WPT Tx and Rx systems, ensuring secure data transfer and OTA firmware updates.
- Analyze schematics and PCB layouts to ensure firmware compatibility and efficiency in power conversion.
- Develop firmware validation and QA processes to test edge cases, improve reliability, and ensure compliance with UL/CE/FCC safety standards.
- Implement state-machine logic for device-specific functionalities (e.g., temperature control in kettles, motor speed regulation in blenders).
- Perform real-world debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Provide technical documentation for firmware architecture, APIs, and system-level interactions.
- Work with OEMs/ODMs to integrate firmware into production-ready appliances.
- Ensure scalability of firmware from prototypes to mass-market consumer appliances.
Qualifications:
✅ Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
✅ 10+ years of experience in embedded firmware development.
✅ Strong C/C++ programming skills for bare-metal and RTOS environments.
✅ Experience with microcontrollers (ESP32, Renesas, STM32, TI, NXP, etc.) in real-world applications.
✅ Expertise in BLE-based communication, power negotiation, and encrypted data exchange.
✅ Strong knowledge of wireless power transfer (WPT), induction heating, and power electronics.
✅ Proficiency in debugging hardware-firmware interactions using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and firmware debugging tools.
✅ Experience with firmware OTA updates, bootloaders, memory management, and power efficiency optimization.
✅ Familiarity with electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and working with hardware teams.
✅ Ability to design robust and scalable firmware architectures for mass-market products.
✅ Strong understanding of state machines, motor control, temperature sensing, and real-time event handling.
✅ Excellent documentation skills, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities
