Korall Engineering AS is a design engineering firm, part of Startuplab Bergen, and a member of the GCE Ocean Technology Cluster, that employs the latest high-end design optimization technologies. We automate product design workflows in order to reduce engineering and lead times and redesign existing products through the use of AI to reduce material waste and production costs, increase efficiency, and lessen environmental impact. Our team uses machine learning design-to-manufacturing tools like generative design, mathematical finite element methods like topology optimization, and implicit modeling lattice-structure solutions for additive manufacturing. For those products and machines where mass is a critical factor, weight reduction cuts down fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. For those cases where performance is decisive, our team identifies where a product can be re-designed to maximize its efficiency. By automating product design workflows, we are able to generate optimized designs.
