Key Responsibilities

  • Platform Ownership: Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of LendAPI’s platform, ensuring it meets high standards of reliability, scalability, and security.

  • Technical Leadership: Drive best practices in engineering, code quality, and platform management; serve as a mentor to other engineers on the team.

  • Product Development: Collaborate with product teams to design and deliver features that align with LendAPI’s strategic roadmap, meeting and anticipating the needs of the fintech and banking industry.

  • Scalability & Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and ensure the platform is optimized for performance and stability to handle high transaction volumes and complex data processing.

  • Security & Compliance: Ensure the platform adheres to the highest security standards and complies with relevant financial regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).

  • Integration: Lead integrations with major banks and third-party financial service providers, managing complex data flows and ensuring seamless user experiences.

  • Innovation & Improvement: Evaluate and implement new tools, frameworks, and technologies to enhance platform capabilities and development productivity.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with data, infrastructure, and customer success teams to create end-to-end solutions that meet client and business needs.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in software engineering roles, with a focus on fintech or banking software. Must have experience working on large-scale financial platforms used by major banks or providers.

  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Python, or C#. Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure), microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and data management.

  • Full stack development: Expert in web frameworks such as Django, Celery, front end with React.

  • Scalability and optimization skills: Demonstrated success in architecting and optimizing applications to sustain high request throughput (3000+ requests/sec) and efficiently manage large datasets, including billions of records.

  • Platform & Application Knowledge: Proven experience in building and maintaining complex banking and/or fintech platforms, including security, compliance, and reliability aspects.

  • Regulatory Awareness: Knowledge of financial regulations and standards, with experience implementing compliant software solutions for banking and fintech.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach to tackle complex challenges and drive continuous improvement.

  • Leadership & Communication: Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • You’ve built applications that can deal with 3000 requests per second and billions of rows.

  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) are a plus.

  • Skilled in DevOps automation and containerization with Docker; familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning is a strong plus.

  • Familiarity with machine learning models, data analytics, and AI-driven insights for financial services.
