With our rapid expansion on the horizon and increasing student demand, we’re looking for an experienced Underwriting Lead to join our senior management team. You will have the chance to own our underwriting & student scoring model as well as drive investment decisions for Lendorse.
🚀 You will:
Own and further develop our underwriting and student scoring model for evaluating student applicants, including identifying gaps and areas of improvement
Build systems or models to analyse and interpret data to assess the creditworthiness and risk profile of students
Incorporate external market factors and data into the underwriting model to ensure accurate risk assessment
Leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques in underwriting
Lead the data collection efforts to ensure informed data-based decision-making
💪 You have:
A Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, mathematics, data science)
A minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting or an adjacent field, preferably in an insurance, financial or lending institution
A strong proficiency in data analysis and modelling, with expertise in using statistical software and programming languages such as Python
A solid understanding of credit risk assessment principles and methodologies
The ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound underwriting decisions
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
A self-motivated and proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
