Role Purpose

• LevelTen’s Innovation team identifies, aggregates, and evaluates new business opportunities and incubates new products and services around a curated subset of those opportunities. Our remit includes reaching new customer segments, expanding geographic coverage, and developing novel transaction infrastructure to support emerging decarbonization technologies.
• The Innovation Manager will take a lead role in tracking energy-related markets, and evaluating and prioritizing new business opportunities. They may also be tasked with serving as a temporary business line lead for current or future innovation initiatives. Over time, their focus will evolve as business needs change.

Duties and Responsibilities

• In partnership with Director of Innovation, manage LevelTen’s process for researching and assessing new business opportunities
• Conduct qualitative research and build quantitative models to support prioritization decisions, new business launches, and evaluation of external partnership opportunities
• Act as project manager for major Innovation initiatives as needed, coordinating a cross-functional team to deliver against revenue and growth targets
• Monitor developments in renewable energy and decarbonization to identify market trends and track competitor activity
• Engage in business development activities (e.g., speaking at conferences, collaboration with marketing to promote thought leadership, etc.) to promote Innovation initiatives to external stakeholders
• Collaborate with LevelTen’s Product organization to proactively shape software solutions for Innovation products; leverage knowledge of existing platform capabilities to identify opportunities where existing functionality might be repurposed to advance a pilot initiative
• Support investor conversations as needed

Qualifications:

• • 5+ years of professional energy experience, including experience in renewable energy
  • Prior professional experience evaluating opportunities in competitive wholesale power markets and vertically integrated markets
  • Prior experience with some combination of emerging or precommercial decarbonization technologies, tax equity, tax credit, and/or project finance preferred
  • Robust professional energy network that can be leveraged to evaluate new opportunities and technologies
  • Experience driving prioritization and go/no-go decisions among senior or executive-level stakeholders
  • Demonstrated aptitude for structured quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • Comfort operating within ambiguous and fast-changing work environments
  • Experience leading internal teams to execute on cross-functional projects with minimal dedicated resources, given the experimental nature/pilot structure of the Innovation team’s activities
  • Comfort interfacing with external partners and clients
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and communicate technical concepts
  • West Coast or Pacific Time availability preferred; occasional travel required (1-3x/quarter) if not based in Seattle

• The estimated compensation for this position is $145,000 - $163,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. In addition, this position is eligible for an annual bonus and an equity grant.
