Job Description

This is a hybrid role based in Carpinteria, California.

The LinkedIn Learning Solutions Content Team is looking for a Senior Instructional Visual Designer to join our post-production Graphics team. In this senior designer role, you will create high-quality graphics and animations to support and clarify the instruction of our online video courses. Working under the direction of an Associate Creative Director, you will collaborate with colleagues both inside and outside the company; work with vendors to support consistent production of course graphics; partner on innovation projects and workflows; and mentor other designers across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Create instructional motion graphics within a production environment for online course videos - including complex, high-profile courses containing significant ambiguity
  • Participate in the creation of new palettes/style guides
  • Lead and develop Instructional design solutions for course graphics
  • Work effectively and efficiently with a variety of personalities in a fast paced, deadline driven, production environment
  • Translate storyboard direction into on-screen graphics maintaining consistency with established style-guides
  • Create graphic assets using proprietary company tools with a focus on accuracy, instructional value, design, and the timing of graphical content
  • Work closely with the lead designers, graphic designers, editors, and producers to design graphics and animations that support the instructional value of our courses
  • Ensure that the brand is accurately represented in all graphical content
  • Create assets for upload to media management library
  • Collaborate with other graphics team members to continually innovate, develop, define, and implement our aesthetic to instructional graphics
  • Give and receive constructive feedback with in-house team and vendors
  • Review vendor supplied graphics for accuracy and compliance with style-guides
  • Work with the company tracking system to keep projects updated
  • Maintain knowledge of post-production tools
  • Manage priorities and workload effectively to meet all schedules and deadlines
  • Set accurate estimates on delivery expectations and update the production team regularly
  • Accurately log daily hours within the time management tool across course assignments
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years of graphic design and motion experience
  • Minimum 2-year degree in design or equivalent work experience
  • Experience using Adobe After Effects
  • Experience using expressions, custom scripts and motion graphics templates
  • Experience using Microsoft PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Acrobat


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in instructional graphics
  • Design portfolio that exhibits people illustration skills
  • Experience building motion graphics templates
  • Experience writing scripts for expressions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact within a team environment effectively and professionally
  • Experience working in a video production workflow
  • Skill in organizing and prioritizing work and following assignments through to completion
  • Ability to be flexible in schedule and adaptable to constant change
  • Approaches work with a positive attitude and a sense of urgency
  • Ability to interpret complex ideas, both written and oral, into simplified visual graphics
  • Adaptable to advancing technology and evolving software

The pay range for this role is $74,000 to $120,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
