LinkedIn is looking for a Senior Manager, Technical Program Management in its Developer Platforms and Experiences (DPX) organization. The DPX organization is a fast paced, global and dynamic organization that is responsible for accelerating R&D Velocity at LinkedIn. With all of LinkedIn engineering as customers of the DPX organization, it’s essential that the candidate has a very strong technical background with experience as a developer and manager of engineering teams.

The selected candidate will have demonstrated expertise in building and leading high-performance teams that deliver impact at scale. You will work with the leadership team to define, prioritize and drive project portfolios to successful and impactful delivery. You will also establish, measure and manage the right project management governance practices and frameworks within DPX team and partnering with other engineering organizations at LinkedIn. The ideal candidate will have an excellent balance of leadership, organizational, and technical skills, and can execute and deliver successfully in situations where authority is not a given. Influence, collaboration and leadership across functional lines is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, develop, mentor and coach a high performing team of Technical Program Managers
• Manage TPM assignment and planning / allocation and ensure portfolio and project health through appropriate resource allocation, prioritization and focus.
• Plan and deliver feature programs leveraging your team of TPMs
• Develop strategic roadmaps and resource plans with the leadership team.
• Create a collaborative work environment that fosters accountability, transparency, and excellence.
• Manage and maintain a prioritized program backlogs based on highest business value and ensure forward momentum with project execution.
• Provide clean escalations to surface risks and remove roadblocks. Assess and mitigate risk exposure.
• Help teams be more efficient, see the big picture and ensure processes scale appropriately with the company.
• Run enterprise level programs related to program management best practices including methodologies and tooling.
• Develop strong partnerships with leaders within and outside DPX.

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of people management experience
• Experience with software engineering practices gained through experience as a software engineer

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional experience as a Technical Program Manager.
• Developer Productivity experience and/or passion about such a domain including staying up to date on industry trends and best practices.
• Demonstrated abilities to grow people’s careers
• Practical and advanced understanding of managing the lifecycle of large-scale programs and projects.
• Excellent communication skills; skilled at cross-functional and cross-organizational communication and attention to detail.
• Experience managing large programs and leading multiple TPMs.
• Technical program management experience in the tech industry.
• Significant experience working with software engineering leadership, technical teams, and individual contributors.
• Strong written communication skills including exec communication at senior engineering leadership levels.
• Passionate about learning new concepts and technologies.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The pay range for this role is $160,000 to $262,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
