Role Description:
As a Technical Operations (Hardware + Product Systems), you will play a central role in executing and scaling the operational backbone of Locus Lock’s product deployments. This role sits at the intersection of hardware assembly, product configuration, logistics, and operational systems.
You will assemble and test devices, configure product systems for deployment, manage inventory and shipments, and build the internal operational processes required to scale production and delivery. You will work closely with the founder and engineering team and gain visibility into the full lifecycle of a deep-tech product - from assembly and testing to deployment and customer delivery.
This role is highly hands-on. The ideal candidate enjoys working with physical systems, building operational processes from scratch, and maintaining high data integrity across inventory, deployments, and product tracking.
Key Responsibilities
Product Assembly, Testing, and Readiness
- Assemble and configure Locus Lock hardware systems according to engineering specifications
- Execute testing and validation procedures to ensure product reliability before shipment
- Perform troubleshooting of device-level issues during assembly and testing
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, test results, and deployment records
Product Configuration & Setup
- Configure devices and associated product software required for deployment
- Perform device initialization, provisioning, and configuration before shipment
- Support troubleshooting of hardware/software integration issues during testing or deployment
- Work with engineering to validate new hardware revisions or product updates
Inventory & Logistics Operations
- Manage inventory of devices, components, and spare parts
- Maintain accurate tracking of serial numbers, deployments, and product lifecycle data
- Prepare shipments including final device configuration, packaging, and documentation
- Coordinate domestic and international shipping logistics with vendors and partners
Operational Systems & Process Development
- Build and maintain internal tools and systems (databases, dashboards, or tracking platforms) for inventory, deployments, and shipment status
- Create and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assembly, testing, and shipping
- Maintain clean, accurate operational records and data systems
- Identify inefficiencies and implement scalable operational workflows
External Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers, logistics providers, and customers to ensure on-time delivery and deployments
- Track delivery timelines and operational milestones for customer commitments
- Support documentation and compliance requirements related to product deployments
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related)
- 2+ years of experience in technical operations, hardware operations, or product deployment roles
- Experience working with hardware systems or electromechanical products
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience building operational processes where systems do not yet exist
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter capable of managing multiple priorities with limited supervision
Preferred
- Experience working in aerospace, defense, robotics, IoT, or deep-tech startups
- Familiarity with device provisioning, firmware updates, or embedded system workflows
- Basic proficiency in Python or scripting for small operational tasks
- Experience managing hardware inventory systems or logistics operations
- Experience working in early-stage startup environments

The compensation range for this role is $90K-$120K/annual salary + stock options + benefits.
