About LyfPlus
Patients move between providers. Their care should continue—not start over.
LyfPlus is building connected healthcare infrastructure that helps pharmacies, hospitals, clinics and other providers coordinate referrals, prescriptions, follow-ups and patient journeys. Our work combines healthcare operations, provider software and network-level coordination to make care easier to navigate and more continuous.
We are building for the realities of existing healthcare systems
Our team works closely across product, engineering, clinical, commercial and expansion functions. We value people who combine strong professional judgment with curiosity, ownership and respect for the healthcare professionals and patients our technology serves.
About the role
LyfPlus is looking for a Market Expansion Strategist to help evaluate, enter and grow priority healthcare markets.
You will combine market research, healthcare ecosystem analysis, partnership development and hands-on market execution. The role requires someone who can move from a market-entry hypothesis to direct conversations with hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, professional associations, regulators and other ecosystem participants—and then convert what is learned into a practical expansion plan.
This is not a desk-research-only strategy role. It combines analysis, relationship building, field execution and cross-functional coordination.
What you’ll do
- Assess prospective markets using healthcare demand, provider structure, regulation, competition, payment systems, technology readiness and implementation constraints.
- Map hospitals, pharmacies, clinics, laboratories, professional associations, payers, regulators and potential strategic partners.
- Build evidence-based market-entry recommendations and phased launch plans.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, field research and customer discovery.
- Develop and test market-specific value propositions, partnership models and go-to-market approaches.
- Build relationships with healthcare providers, associations, government stakeholders and commercial partners.
- Support partnership discussions from initial outreach through pilot design and implementation.
- Define expansion objectives, assumptions, budgets, risks, milestones and performance indicators.
- Track market and pilot performance and translate results into decisions about scaling, changing direction or pausing.
- Coordinate with leadership, product, operations, legal, clinical and commercial teams.
- Produce concise market briefs, decision memos, pipeline reports and leadership updates.
- Represent LyfPlus professionally at meetings, industry events and ecosystem engagements.
- Travel to priority launch markets when required.
What we’re looking for
- Relevant experience in market expansion, strategy, business development, partnerships, consulting, healthcare operations or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical and commercial judgment.
- Demonstrated ability to convert ambiguous market questions into structured analysis and executable plans.
- Strong stakeholder-management and relationship-building ability.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Confidence engaging senior representatives of healthcare organizations, companies, associations and public institutions.
- Comfort working with targets, budgets, market data and performance metrics.
- High ownership, discretion and willingness to work in the field.
- Strong understanding of varied business environments and market-entry conditions.
- Ability to work from the Nairobi office and travel when necessary.
Valuable, but not required
- Experience in healthcare, health technology, pharmaceuticals, insurance, fintech or another regulated sector.
- Existing healthcare or public-sector relationships across relevant provider ecosystems.
- Experience launching a product, service, branch, program or partnership in a new market.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulation, provider procurement or institutional sales.
- Additional professional language capabilities.
- Experience working across more than one market.
Success in this role
Within your first months, you should be able to produce a credible market-prioritization framework, complete ecosystem maps for selected markets, establish a qualified stakeholder pipeline and help convert at least one expansion opportunity into a defined pilot or partnership pathway.
