We currently have (6) cafe locations in NYC, and we’re expanding this summer into Brooklyn! Our small team is passionate about leading the plant-based matcha + food movement in a sustainable, elevated and respectable way.The Matchaful Culinary Lab in Clinton Hill will be the largest space we've been in yet, and it will feature our first dedicated culinary production facility as well as our signature Matchaful Café. At Matchaful, we make all of our concentrates for our creative lattes in our very own kitchen. Over the past few years, we’ve also expanded our plant-based, gluten-free offerings. The Matchaful Culinary Lab will be a space for innovation, experimentation, and nourishment!As Matchaful’s Prep Chef, you will be responsible for the preparation of our in-house food offerings, cleaning and organizing the space, and working directly under our Head Chef and Culinary Manager.Lots of growth opportunities exist as Matchaful expands our culinary offerings and cafe footprint this year! Please email your resume and a brief cover letter to retail@matchaful.com.About the Prep Chef role (selection):- 3-4 days/week minimum commitment- Prepare food to meet orders for all cafés daily- Build prep kits for kitchen and set up production for success- Communicate on Slack with managers about day to day tasks- Follow best kitchen practices and all kitchen protocols- Accurately label and store food items; maintain ingredient stocks- Wash dishes and conduct daily cleaning tasks- Must be able to commit to working early hours; Food Protection Certificate if not already certified- Record all production events and kitchen waste; assist with EOM inventory countsAbout You:- Great team player; passionate about plant-based food and matcha- Awesome communicator; hardworking and efficient- Open to constructive feedback; work well under pressure- Physical stamina to stand for long periods; lift up to 50 lbs- Attention to detail; love organization and improving kitchen spaces- 2-3 years of professional kitchen experience (commissary a plus)- Culinary school education a plus (not necessary); Food Protection Certificate a plus- You love learning and want to grow with Matchaful
