We seek a caring and diligent Director of Retail Operations to lead growth of our retail presence, managing all aspects of café business operations across multiple locations. Responsible for finances, operations, people, standards, customer satisfaction, staff development, and culture. Reports to CEO, oversees Operations & Sourcing Manager, General Manager, Hiring Manager, Training Manager, and Store Leads.Job Requirements: 5–10 years managing multi-location restaurants/cafés and teams; 5+ years with restaurant management software/finances (Marketman, Square preferred); successful track record opening new NYC stores and scaling; specialty coffee/tea experience preferred.Responsibilities:- Drive Sales & Profitability, Operational Improvements: Create/execute plans for sales goals; overall performance of all cafés; leadership and field operations standards; performance improvement plans; measure/optimize operational performance; supervise/evaluate locations; develop policies/procedures (customer service, cleanliness, daily practices); enforce training standards; maximize sales/transactions/profits; control food/labor costs; ensure food safety/sanitation compliance; crisis management; repairs/maintenance; inventory management; quality control of ingredients; customer feedback/resolution; execute/maintain marketing promotions.- People Development, Retention, Team Building: Foster teamwork/accountability; manage/lead to achieve goals; collaborate with leadership; performance reviews; staffing plan and training for existing/new stores; oversee hiring process; inspire teams to meet goals/KPIs; enforce operating standards; lead weekly management meetings; advise scheduling; conduct wage reviews.- New Project Development: Assist new store development (construction, equipment, openings); cross-functional coordination; cost-effective implementation; standardized processes/procedures.- Financial Management: Oversee finances/COGS via Marketman; set/track financial goals; manage budgets; monitor revenue/expenses/profitability; optimize costs/efficiency; accurate/timely financial reporting; evaluate expenditures; review store financials and implement corrections; partner with store managers on sales/costs/performance.Working Conditions: Full-time; evening/weekend/holiday shifts expected.
