About the Role: Reporting to the Manager of Education, you will lead the daily operations and educational programming at Matchaful’s brand new Ritual Bar and Stone Mill in Williamsburg. The Ritual Bar is a limited‑seating tea tasting counter for hands‑on tea classes, guided tastings, and exclusive offerings. You’ll receive hands‑on training to lead reservation‑only tastings and classes, execute unique beverages and experiences, and become a source of knowledge about Japanese tea. As Experience Lead, you will own grinding operations—loading tencha leaves, packing fresh ground matcha, maintaining cleaning schedules—and guide guests through the grinding process. Maintain a pristine, organized environment and the highest level of customer service at the Ritual Bar and in our cafés. Requirements: 2+ years hospitality leadership/training; 1+ year specialty tea; full‑time availability (40 hrs/week incl. Core responsibilities include: Ensure Ritual Bar and Grinding Room operate successfully; plan to achieve monthly sales goals; inspection readiness and maintain A grade; attend weekly leadership meetings; communicate equipment or supply issues on Slack; quality checks; coordinate commissary orders; label/date items; conduct weekly/monthly inventory and record waste; keep retail stocked and storefront impeccable; maintain clean customer areas; partner with café team for seamless experience; manage reservations for counter experiences, space rentals, corporate events, and classes; independently lead educational programming; provide detailed reports; lead grinder tours/education and new‑hire education; assist with events; own daily grinding operations; maintain product quality; monitor inventory and production schedule; ensure equipment is in good condition and troubleshoot. Compensation: $22.00–$28.00 per hour. Full‑time, 40 hours/week.
